  1. How deep of water? If you were fishing a 4-6 ft deep river would you? What depth/type of water you fish? So in a 4-6’ deep river if I reel slowly, 1/2 oz will stay down?
  2. Exactly I can’t do anything with 3/8 in current Sort of like War Eagle Screamin Eagle
  3. Currently throw 1/2 on both jackhammers and spinnerbaits. I have noticed even with a slow retrieve I often have trouble getting down in the strike zone. I believe there are often times where fish are just far enough out of reach that they aren’t making the move on your bait.
  4. I read that this eventually can work it’s way off as well, no?
  5. Exactly, I’m on my kayak with 4-5 rigs max, 2 spinning 2 casting.
  6. Well when you’re on moving water in a kayak with only 4 setups and need to quickly switch presentations before being blown out of a hole, or are simply going through the motions of trying to figure out what they want you don’t always have the luxury of tying direct.
  7. Who said it was for improving the action? It’s obviously for being able to quickly and easily switch between baits when trying to find a pattern.
  8. There has got to be a better solution for using a snap with a spinnerbait than a little dental rubber band. I’m referring of course to keeping the snap from sliding down the spinnerbait wire, to date I’ve been putting a small rubber band on the tie point but they always pop off.
  9. I would think 1/2 oz for castability but I know there is a delicate balance with retrieve speed, being one of the few topwater baits that does not float. I’m also sort of confused on what exactly a “clacker” is - I thought that was the entire presentation and that all of them “clacked” or is this something entirely different from the sound it makes? Lastly, is white/chartreuse generally the best color for most conditions? How about for Pike vs Smallmouth?
  10. Nice. Is weight necessary to produce this action or is plastic heavy enough?
  11. Is there a specific way you are supposed to work this bait to get the desired action from that bubble tail? I’ve heard there is a sweeping action of the rod required, but I always assumed you just let it fall and twitch lightly similar to other flukes.
  12. Do you use waited or unweighted? Do you find that the twist lock and parts a different action other negatively or positively on the fall, and if so which EWG do you prefer?
  13. How do you seal the end, just shrink wrap or electrical tape?
  14. So basically for smallmouth they should have slot limits forbidding keeping fish over 12-14”, and as it is it’s useless.
  15. 1) The overwhelming majority of bass fishermen practice catch & release. 2) ocean fish outnumber bass exponentially. Surely any responsible discussion about this shouldn’t compare an ocean and a lake. 5) Catfish, walleye, perch fishermen are not the same category of angler as bass fishermen, who are fishing for sport - the challenge, strategy and fight of the fish rather than sitting there with a rod in their hands. I understand what you’re saying but trying to argue that bass fishing and walleye fishing are remotely similar is disingenuous. Not to mention walleye are regulated much more than bass.
  16. So can I assume since their motivations are not in the best interests of sport fisherman that their insistence that harvesting is not detrimental to a fishery is inaccurate or a half truth?
  17. Excellent, thanks! I’m not seeing one on that site, do you have to custom order it?
  18. I can’t seem to find any that specify this. I am looking for rod socks to fit my 5-5’6” ultralight setups. Thanks!
  19. So I probably need to respool all of my combos that have been outside for 3 weeks?
