Anybody fished Mississinewa lately? Any insight on the current water clarity or what’s been working out there.

First-time leader user--lengths for techniques?
My leaders are usually 7 to 8 feet long. For my spinning set ups I am about to start using an even longer leader Maybe 15 feet due to having re-tie my drop shots.

Slot Limit
I live in the Indianapolis area and I fished a tournament at the White River and DNR enforces a slot limit. The slot limit entails that you can only keep 2 fish over 15 inches and 3 fish under 13 inches. Anything between 13 and 15 inches can not be kept. Are there any other lakes or rivers around the country that have weird limits? Just curious.......

Daiwa Rods
I got the OG Tatula 7’2” medium heavy cranking rod. It’s my dedicated Chatterbait rod. Great rod!

Found this fish floating in my lake what is it ?!?
Slitting the gills of fresh water fish allows the blood to drain out fish which will make the meat less fishy and more white looking.

Gander Outdoors
I bought the Good Sam membership and I won’t be renewing. The Good Sam membership was marketed as something that will save you up to 10% on purchases but in all actuality it takes $0.20 off of items on average. I don’t shop their enough to benefit from that membership so it’s a waste. They do have some decent prices and have many things that other stores don’t so I will continue to go as needed.

I fished the White River today. I ended up coming in 3rd. The slot limit made everything that much harder. For your limit, 2 fish had to be over 15 inches and 3 had to be under 12. Caught my first 2 fish on black and blue Chatterbait and the rest were on a drop shot. I caught a lot of fish but the slot limit messed us all up. But I had fun.

Gander Outdoors
We all know after Gander Mountain went out of business it was revamped into Gander Outdoors. Gander reopened in my area at the top of the year and it never has a lot a customers at any given time. I was wondering if any Ganders in other areas are getting a lot of traffic. I’m not sure how long it will last if no one is ever there and it’s never advertised, seems like the ship might sink again.

Parting ways
$6 for roboworms? What the hell? Lol I agree totally with @volzfan59, I recently stopped working part time at Cabela’s due to family obligations. I never tried to offer the card to any customers but I provided great customer service to anybody that had questions or needed help. One day I got called up to the office because I hadn’t got a single customer to sign up for the club card and they made me go through some training to help me get people to sign up. My whole reason for working there was to get some extra cash while working in the fishing department, not selling credit cards. I have a full time job with a fortune 100 company so I wasn’t going to stress or lose any sleep about selling credit cards for a part time job when the incentives are just a new t shirt or your name being on the wall in the break room. But with that being said I had some great relationships with my coworkers, some of them retired and some needed to be there to feed their families. They were all great people, so please be aware that that the powers that be made it to where they have hound people for club cards.

Respectful fishing
Got to be careful confronting people. Next time just call DNR. You can never underestimate the stupidity of the next man. So for safety reasons just call DNR.

Leader break offs
I use the Alberto knot on 5 of my set ups and they have not done any damage to my guides. My average leader length is 8 feet. What rods were you using that had their guides damaged.

Leader break offs
Do 7 raps each way. Make sure you are tying it on correctly. The main line goes in and out of the loop opposite directions. It has to be a miss step in your knot tying process.

Cabelas warranty, beware
I used to work at Cabelas part time and they will take returns for a defective rods. They will either exchange it or give u score credit. Next time that happens ask for a manager because the way that lady acted is against their company morals. The lady was clearly a nut case. I can’t count how many rods we exchanged and 95% of the time it was due to carelessness by the customer.

Curado K vs Okuma Helios TCS
Same here, most of my reels are Daiwa and I have a 200I that I love. Daiwa is my preference as well. The 200I is great but I couldn’t see myself buying so many reels with that much line capacity.

St Croix Legend Tournament vs Daiwa Tatula vs Kistler Helium 3
I have a LTB and a Tatula rod. The LTB is the more sensitive and overall better rod. LTB is $260 and the Tatula is $150. Not sure what your budget is but you can do a lot with $100. But the LTB is definately a better rod.

Why Are Reels So Much More Expensive When Bought Separately?
The Mach II combo has a better rod than the Mach Speed Stick that sold alone. The rod with the Mach II combo is IM8 and the Mach Speed Stick is IM6. Ur limited to one rod with combo but have different options with Mach Speed Stick.
