I been contemplating lake casitas since it's about half the distance from ventura than castaic. I just bought my Stratos so I wanted to enjoy it asap and not wait for the quarantine. I managed two small Lrg mouth bass last weekend at Castaic still learning

We'll I went Saturday weather was nice. Just fyi to anyone going they don't except debit cards. Had to drive all the way back in town to pull cash out. I managed two little bass the whole morning on a square bill crawfish. I tried everything.

I heard that from a few people now that Lews makes good reels

I been noticing us left handed guys have to step it up on price range to get a reel in different Ratios. Any advice on a particular model around $100 to get me rolling for a few years I figure get a 7, 6 ,and 5 cover all bases

I picked up a field and stream black tech 8 for 59.00 from Dicks sporting and a quatum Nitro for 39.00 and they look like the perfect match and it fishes awesome. The reel is so smooth and the pole feels and acts like a 100.00 pole

Need advice on baitcaster reels. I currently own one that I had since I was 19 a curado. I'm 35 years old now and I'm looking at all these new reels and I see 7., 6. , 5. Ratios. What's a good ratio for the following, Top water-pitching, Jig worms and spinner baits crank baits . I just bought three new poles for what I mentioned and now I need to outfit them. I'm new to bass fishing I have always had one pole but now with a boat I'm sick of tying knots.

I went camping there about 2 months ago they were only allowing boats that you could hand lunch on the dirt. The ramp closed off. I had to drive down a dirt road pretty soft sand to acess the lake. Good fishing wind picks up alot at the lake. Good lake to float tube

Thinking of trying my luck there. Does the lake have water and what are some key areas for top water fishing. Im not asking for secret spots just areas with structure like grass exc. I never been and I just got my boat locked in for Pyrmid last week and Castaic. Any info will help

Just fyi I purchased some jawbone frogs at Dicks sporting goods and they were garbage. They were sinking like crazy and i had to constantly squeeze water out of them. The legs which were rubber strings were falling off. Any tips on some good frogs.I'm new to this type of fishing but loving it.

I would say so. The only flaws I can think of is the following Check the boats rivets unless it's a newer welded one. If you fish a lake with alot of wind might be a problem sometimes light boats don't due well in wind. Be extremely careful were there's small wind waves you take one over the bow you could be done. The bonus on the other hand is maitnace you don't have to wash it and a small car can pull it. Good luck
