Maryland's Who's who!
I finally found my way back to this site. I live in Frederick County and mainly fish Little Seneca for tiger muskies. I fly fish many of the local trout streams as well. I recently retired (YES!) so I hope to have more time to fish and post. Good to see many of the old regulars still on here.

Life Span of a Trolling Motor
I have a 1989 bow mount mg that is still going strong. There should be a cable tension adjustment screw on the bottom of your foot controller if it is like mine. Proper tension may let you take your foot off the switch without going in circles. Good luck.

Help Me Catch A Muskie!
Cooler water temps should be triggering some fish to bite. Now is the time to be out there. Good luck.

Vintage Tracker live well question
I plugged the livewell intake on the back of my 1989 Tracker. Then I plugged the hole in the live well. Now I have some badly needed storage space. I don't keep anything longer than it takes to snap a photo and I don't fish tourneys. Have your fish eatin' buddy bring a cooler full of ice and he should have nice fresh fish at the end of the day. Just a suggestion.

Where do you keep your boat?
My Toyota sits in the driveway, my Dodge Ram sits in the driveway, my 1989 Tracker lives in the GARAGE! A man's gotta know his priorities. Good luck with your search.

BC Reel Making Noise
I took it apart and put a drop of oil on the spots indicated. As soon as it cools down some I will take it out for some trial casts. I really can't thank you enough for your help. Whenever I need reel service you can be sure you will get the business. Thanks, Steve

BC Reel Making Noise
Wow, thanks for the info. I will take a look and if I'm still uncertain I will send it your way. There are no screws on the palming cover. There is one indent button on the bottom. When I press that in, the cover does not come off. Do I need a thin blade to get in there and pry it off? You can tell I'm a little timid here because I don't want to mess the reel up by trying to force it off. Thanks, Steve

BC Reel Making Noise
I will try to remember to post the model number in an hour or so when I get home. Is there more disassembly required required to locate the bearings than just taking the side cover off? I have never taken a bait caster apart before so, please, bear with me.

BC Reel Making Noise
I will check the model number when I get home. I believe it is a newer one. It does have magntic settings. The noise is a "screech" for lack of a better word that only occurs while the spool is revolving when the line is going out. HTH.

still haven't got my boat back
Been there..done that! If you trust the shop just try to be patient. If not, get a second opinion. That's exactly why I now put my boat in the shop at end of each season...so they can have PLENTY of time to get it fixed before I need it again. I know that when things break you don't have much choice about when to put it in the shop. Good luck getting her back for the weekend.

BC Reel Making Noise
I have a Quantum "IRON" BC reel that has started to make a noise when casting. It only does it when the spool is spinning fast as the lure goes out. I opened the side plate and lubricated all the spots I could find. I'm not even sure it is coming from the spool itself. Could it be from the magnets engaging when I cast? I really like this reel a lot but I only paid $30 for it in a pawn shop. I'm hoping that some of you reel mechanics can help me. Thanks

Where To Get Crimping Sleeves?
I want to start making my own flurocarbon leaders for musky fishing. I haven't been able to locate the sleeves to crimp the leader after adding swivels and snaps. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
