Full Time Fishing
Well guys, I gotta say. I'm a little disappointed that I started this thread a few months back & still haven't received the first donation. ? Guess I'll have to settle for the old fashioned way of working until retirement, then fish full time. Or maybe I should buy a lotto ticket. What's the powerball up to these days?

Best Bait/Technique for a Weedy Pond?
Weightless super fluke Weightless senko Horny toad or Ribbit Frog Weightless Ultra vibe Speed Worm or magnum speed craw Hollow bodied frog Work em over grass and then kill the bait & let it soak in the gaps between grass.

Zoom bait co.
Maybe it's the 8" dead ringer I use all the time, now that I think about it. I just know what it looks like when I grab them at the store. About half the lure is that big curly tail. Lol. They work great t rigged. And sometimes they work better slow rolling like a spinner bait or swimbait. I started out using ultra vibe speed worms weightless (kinda like a finesse buzzbait) prob a decade ago. But I've had good success with them on a shaky head the last few years. Same with the magnum speed craws - can use them weightless for topwater & then kill them in gaps of grass & lily pads. But they work great on a shaky head too. Same with the magnum trick worms - great rigged weightless or a shaky head. Zoom baits are definitely versatile.

Zoom bait co.
The 6" Dead Ringer is the only one I've ever used.

Zoom bait co.
Prob 80% of my soft plastics are Zoom, and I got a lotta soft plastics. There are just so many effective & versatile baits that they produce. Super fluke, swimming fluke Trick worms, finesse worms Horny Toads Magnum & Ultra vibe speed worms Magnum & Ultra vibe speed craws Mag II and Ole Monster worms Fluke Sticks Big Dead Ringer worms These are all staples in my fishing. I've just about always have an ultra vibe speed worm and a fluke tied on from early Spring thru late Fall.

"Jig & Twig"
The few times I've done this, I've only used a 1/16 oz shaky head weight and actually drug the rig across the bottom with minimal stops & shaking. This was bank fishing in 10 FOW or less. I had an ultra vibe speed worm on the shaky head & a trick worm on the drop shot hook. Worked decent. Not the best for casting distance but was doable. I only had about 16-18" between drop shot & shaky head.

Anyone still split shotting?
Prob even better. Use a bobber stopper & 1/16 oz bullet weight and you're good to go. Plus, you have an easy way to adjust the leader length at the snap of your fingers. Why even bother with the split shot?

Anyone still split shotting?
The split shot/mojo rig has always sounded like a mini or finesse Carolina rig to me. I've never tried it because I was always afraid of damaging the line when crimping on the split shot. Seeing Rolo's comments got me thinking tho. You could prob also use a Carolina keeper with a small bullet weight. Swivel would work better for reducing line twist tho, but I'm lazy. Lol. I'm thinking of using it more on my finesse spinning set up that's got 10 lb braid. Hmmmm.

Braid or fluorocarbon for crankbaits
I like fluoro. 12 - 15 lb Invisx.

"Jig & Twig"
I've done similar but with a shaky head as the bottom contact bait. Worked pretty well & I caught fish on both, but not at same time.

To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!
Yeah, I called Shelby Farms. Didn't sound like it was worth fishing & the pond next to the lazer tag is off limits.

BPS Double Down Plopper??? And I was Going To Buy Another WP 130
Bass Pro has been doing this for years. Their whole line of in house baits are rip offs of other companies' successful lures. Like has been mentioned tho, the big difference this time is the use of the word "plopper".

To All My Memphis Pond Hoppers!
Do any of you local guys have any info about these lakes just south of Catch Em Lakes off Walnut Grove? This is directly south of Patriot Lake in Shelby Farms. From Google maps, it looks like they might be part of Shelby Farms. One is called Refuge Pond & the other is next to the Battlefront Lazer Tag & Paintball place, but it appears to be un-named. Would like to know if these are public & worth fishing. Thanks.

Found the M.O.A.B.
I actually only clicked on this thread to see what M.O.A.B. stood for. ?

Site Videos
No biggie. I know you guys are trying to help. Yeah, it's weird. I can play any Bass Resource video from YouTube and Facebook. But on this site, I get the error message. Could very well be my iPhone. Come to think of it, the issue may have started after the last OS update. CURSE YOU APPLE!

Site Videos
Hmm, that's not the problem either. When at home, I'm connected to my wifi with a cable router that has pretty fast service. Its just weird. One day outta the blue it just quit playing videos & only seems to be for this site.

Found the M.O.A.B.
I've done very similar as I'm sure most have. The worst is when you do it the first trip out after spooling your reel with fresh, new expensive line. ???

Site Videos
I've been having the same issue for about a month now. Just suddenly one day, the videos quit working & kept giving me the "Error loading media file" message. When I asked about it a few days ago, nobody really replied. I didn't change any setting on my phone so I got no clue why they quit playing. Videos on other sites, apps, & YouTube work fine. It's just this site. I even recently upgraded from an iPhone 5s to a 6s and the videos still will not play.

New To Shaky Jig Head Fishing For LMB:
Not sure if I've seen an EWG hook on a shaky jig head, but I could be wrong. Most shaky jig heads have a round bend hook built into the jig head along with a bait keeper of some sort like a spring lock. Look on the Tackle Warehouse website. They have tons of shaky jig heads with all kinds of designs, shapes, and hook sizes.

Lol. I can't make em not bed. Well, it doesn't happen too often. I went back to that same spot the next evening & didn't get a single bite, lol. But that's fishing.

New To Shaky Jig Head Fishing For LMB:
Fishes in trees brings up a good point about line. I would think 12 lb mono gonna be tough to handle on a spinning reel. I've been using 10 lb braid on a couple of spinning set ups for the past 2 yrs now & really like it. Only issue has been on windy days.
