If you have the right electronics, it is easy.

This is three of them that I had hanging in my garage. I got fed up sending them back for replacement. Note: all break at the same place where a sharp 90 degree bend is done for the blade wire. Titanium gets brittle when heated and bent in that shape.

I replace the skirt with one that is longer and has some even longer strands.-built-in trailer.

The titanium spinnerbait wires will break with use since the properties of titanium are destroyed when heated to get the "R" bend shape for the line tie. That could happen with zero fish caught or dozens. I quit using that type, had to send too many back for replacement with the same results.

The best stuff I have used is a spray called Campdry.

Getting a trolling motor is more than just getting a trolling motor. You need a deep cycle battery and battery charger too. Same thing with a sonar unit--- battery and charger-just less size needed.

Sensitivity of 10 is fine Chart speed -guess how fast you are going and set the scroll speed to close to that. It is to get the scanning of the imaging pulse to be recorded as the pulse passes over stuff. Too fast and the images are stretched, too slow and the images are compressed or non-existant-that will take practice For 2D only, use the 10 setting to get the fastest updates on the right side of the view--vertical jigging or dropshotting are a couple examples of wanting the fastest updates.. Bottom View--White Line Beam select--200 kHz Imaging 455 kHz gives the most coverage, 800 give sharper images but less bottom coverage. Swithfire--Clear unless you need to see vertical presentations. Max is manual Sensitivity settings only. Clear is less manual setting and some filtering to show fish and features better wihout clutter. FIsh ID-- 5 is good RTS window--Off unless you want the vertical flasher feature. If you don't know what that is, turn if off. Zoom width, no preference since I don't use that view--it makes the returns too blocky for me.

Just remember that the installation is only as good as the person that does the install. I haven't had any good experiences with the BPS in Richmond. When I got a new Tracker, they didn't even know how to set the tach to read the motor even after I took it back twice for that. I found the solution on-line and did it myself.

The most common issue with published waypoints is the accuracy of the unit that creates them, the accuracy of the position format numbers themselves, and the accuracy of the unit trying to find them.

You can use any stranded wire as long as it is 16 guage or larger. Solder and waterproof the splices. Put a 3A spade type fuse/holder at the battery on the positive wire. A waterproof fuse holder is wise. You can get those at Radio Shack. I prefer to use marine grade tinned conductors.

The main "trick" is to use a hook size for bass fishing and then match it to the lure size. I use a 3/0 Octopus hook for Trick worms and a 2/0 Octopus hook for finesse worms. If I use the fat worms like Senkos, I use a 4/0 Octopus hook. If you are missing fish, switch to the finesse size worms. I have caught some of my largest bass with the finesse worm weedless wacky rigged. The Gammy Finesse Wide Gap hook will cause missed hook set due to the hook point and hook eye being so close together. The best application of those if you must use them is to treat it like a Circle hook.

One more thing you might consider if you attach the motor close to the bow is an extension handle. http://www.basspro.com/Ironwood-Pacific-HelmsMate-Extension-Handles/product/7783/ Additionally add a Big Foot switch to the negative power wire so you can turn the motor on and off without turning the handle. That will allow you to fish more, and fight the motor less, especially if it is windy.

You didn't "struck a nerve". You posted an incorrect model and functionality as far as I know. I was asking to find out if you knew of some model and features I am not aware of. Humminbird makes some special run models that are not on their web site or catalog. As far as I know, no 500 series units or lower can be connected to any other devise to share data or functions. Explain about hooking up Co-pilot to any sonar unit--I am not aware of that. Minnkota has Auto Pilot, Co-Pilot, and iPilot Link Minnkota has a new function called iPilot Link with some of their motors that some Humminbird models work with, but those models are only current ones with the Ethernet capability--700 series and higher. You would need to replace the AutoPilot in the motor head with the iPilot Link accessory, purchase an Ethernet cable, and a 700 series unit that is Ethernet capable. Then you can purchase a new iPilot Link compatable Lakemaster card IF you fish areas that are covered by Lakemaster mapping and use the "Follow the contour" feature. You could also update the iPilot Link software via the Humminbird unit. Uni-map is not the GPS antenna, it is the built-in basic mapping background-no lake contours. Yes you can use the lesser versions of Navionics software and also Lakemaster. Check for coverage where you fish. Some may be interested in what you plan on doing, so at least post accurate information. I am trying to help you and others. BTW, of anyone purchases a trolling motor with built-in sonar transducer, that transducer cannot be used for any imaging/scan function-it is 2D only.
