I have the Navionics Boating, Navionics Boating HD, and Navionics USA on one of my Android tablets and get Sonar Charts on all versions. I have Boating on two Android smartphones and they have Sonar Charts. I have Boating HD on my iOS tablet and it has Sonar Charts. On another Android tablet I have Boating and USA and both of those have Sonar Charts Those devices are what I use for Sonar Charts Live with a Vexilar Sonarphone. Some of the versions were free updates or downloads from being a beta tester for Sonar Charts Live Android. Every one is an annual subscription and any you buy are annual also for updates just like the digital map cards for sonar/GPS units. The current software for Navionics Mobile Apps have lake level offset, shallow water highlighting, depth highlighting, creek/river highlighting, and fishing range highlighting plus Community Edits. None of those are available with the Web App. What Navionics maps can you download to a mid range sonar/GPS unit??????? You can with a map card, but not to the unit's memory.

To show the benefit of the Mobile App settings, I changed the lake level to -10' and the software redrew the contour lines to that lake level. Then a lot of the docks are not in the water or barely in the water:

The blue areas are where there is no sonar data to create contour lines so it is given the shallow depth highlighting.

One more thing that the Navionics Mobile App has is Water Level offset. If the lake is drawn down 10', just change the level -10' and the app will redraw the lake to the new pool level.

You can have the lake contour maps on your smartphone and/or your tablet. The Navionics Mobile App is for Android and iOS. Just get it from each's app store. I have it on 5 devices. Of course I also have the map cards in my sonar/GPS units too. This is the Navionics map of the creek arm of the terrestrial topo map. You can add a satellite image overlay on the Web App and Mobile App.

I have also Encryted a microSD card with a Helix 5, read a downloaded Lakemaster map on the Encrypted card, read a Navionics+ card, and Navionics Hotmaps Platinum card with one.

One more thing, be careful with the card door, you can loose it. Make sure you seat it fully when replacing it.

I already know it is a microSD. It is in the specs. Plus I have updated the software in the demo model at a Gander Mt. That is why I suggested you check the software version your unit has.

With that water temp range, you need a slower presentation than a crankbait. Jig, slowly worked blade bait, slowly worked spinnerbait or Chatterbait. When you think you are moving the lure slow, slow down more.

Register it on the Humminbird website to create an account for unit software updates. After you get the unit software in your account, check the software version against what your unit has. That update was released in Sept and added some good features that you would want to start out with. Depending on the day your unit was made, it may or may not have that software version. The update is done via microSD card.

Yes, that shows the mouth open. I had not noticed the eyes--too pixeliated for that.

With Side Imaging the images are recorded on the display from the top to the bottom instead of right to left like 2D sonar. The newest data is at the top and oldest history is at the bottom. The water column (depth) is between the centerline and the recorded bottom (blue color) on both sides. Compare the length of the bass with the width of the water column (black area). If you copy the image to your computer and zoom in on the bass, you can see it has its mouth open. Just have to train your eyes to see the detail. I took that screen shot about a month before the Alabama rig was widely known. I wish I had that presentation available at that time, I may have had a better chance of competing with the shad school. BTW, that technology has been on the market since 2004.

When slow horizontal is the pattern, nothing beats a Chatterbait. A couple of years ago I caught a 9# 9oz. and a 10# 7oz bass back to back with a Chatterbait in about 42 degree water. Around 50 degrees either one works well. Just need to figure out the lure speed part of the pattern.

You must not be familiar with Imaging. That is not 2D sonar that reflects air bladder 2D pulses, it's imaging that shows the body of subjects. Compare the big fish to the depth.
