  1. Looks like you have dealt with this issue before as well. Do you know the part number I need for the nut? Jun from japan tackle has been awesome so far. But he sent me the schematic for the 2007 version, but I don't think the part is the same. Ours doesn't have the spool tension knob, and looks like the handle is held on differently.Thank you for your help! Do you think this would work to get me up and running again? https://www.amazon.com/Klein-Tools-630-10MM-Cushion-Grip-Hollow-Shank/dp/B0009ORXRU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1490137122&sr=8-3&keywords=10+mm+nut https://www.amazon.com/304HC-Stainless-Steel-Nylock-Lock/dp/B00NQ9JT40/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1490137122&sr=8-2&keywords=10+mm+nut
  2. The bad part about Applecare plus is they will only replace the phone if you have it still. It won't cover lost or stolen phones which would have been nice to know when I bought it. That's my fault for not reading the fine print! I went into the AT&T store, and they said I didn't have their insurance on it. Just the applecare plus. I am trying to find someone who can help me out. Haven't heard back from the local dive store yet. Anyone here from the Tulsa area? lol
  3. Will do, thanks for your help. It looked like the part 3 from that diagram. Chances are pretty low I could find that part here in the US right?
  4. So I got a good deal on a 2016 Antres DC about a month ago from a guy on Ebay which seemed to be functioning really well until yesterday.I was reeling in a 3 pound largemouth, then the handle just literally fell off. I caught the handle before it fell into the water, and I have the drag star as well. I found a parts diagram online here...So it looks like I need parts 1,2&3. Edit..That's the 2007 version of my reel. Where can I find the 2016 version, and where can I buy the parts? I'm new to JDM reels, and it doesn't sound like I have a US warranty. Thanks guys for any help. I love this reel, and I need it functioning asap.
  5. Thank you everyone for the amazing ideas and the extreme consideration of my safety and wellbeing. I am going to a local scuba store in Tulsa tomorrow to see if I can get someone to assist me in removing the phone. I learned a very valuable, yet painful and expensive lesson. But when you caught your personal best, my clear and concise judgment went straight out of the window. I will keep everyone posted on this adventure. Hopefully someone at the dive shop can assist for a fee. I will definitely reward them for their time and effort whether or not we are successful. I'm glad I didn't jump in after it. Not worth losing my life over, no matter how bad I wanted that picture to show my buddies. Thanks again everyone. Keep posted for an update.
  6. That's actually my nickname from high school. lol Too d**n bad I've never been scuba diving, Now would probably be a good time to get into it. lol
  7. That's a good idea. Now, is the iphone 7+ magnetic? It has a slim case on it if that matters.
  8. I caught my personal best largemouth yesterday while Kayak fishing on a lake here in Oklahoma. I was taking the celebratory photos with it, and the hog made a huge jump. I went to grab it, and my new iphone went with the fish overboard in 7-8 foot of water. It was too cold to go overboard to recover it yesterday, but I have the stump marked so I could hopefully return to get it. I'm only 5'3, so it's going to be fairly difficult to swim in and get it. Applecare won't replace it unless I can bring them the water damaged phone. Does anyone have any ideas on getting it back? It's only a few months old, so I'm stuck in contract for at least a year. I really wanted that photo back, and I've heard of iphones surviving lakes for a few days. Thanks for any idea guys.

  10. Someone once told me there were no dumb questions...they were wrong! I'm just kidding, but seriously...The metanium MGL all day long, and you will be one happy guy! Best reel I own by far, and I have the new Antares DC which cost me close to $600. But I would take a metanium MGL over another Antares even if the price were the same, that should tell you something.
  11. I have both, and I would definitely get the vendetta between the two of them, I've caught hundreds of fish on mine, and love it. The Vengeance isn't anywhere as sensitive, and just feels much cheaper. I have the 7' medium spinning and use it for all of my drop shotting needs.
  12. You're right about Falcon's rating system. I have definitely noticed they seem a little lighter than they are rated. I shot the OP a message to see if he's interested in selling it. I would love to find a good deal on that rod since I've paid full price 3 too many times. lol
  13. Nice find on that Cara! If you don't mind, where did you find that deal? I have purchased 3 Cara T7's in the last month, all at full price "around $180-$230."
  14. Another Metanium MGL guy over here. I picked up the JDM version, and the new Antares DC within the last couple months. I paid $550 for the Antares DC, and around $300 for the MGL. Even when money isn't an option, I'm going to pick up another 2-3 MGLS. That should tell you something right there! I love my ci4, but there is no comparison between these two reels. My pick would be get yourself a JDM MGL on ebay for a little under $300. The smaller spool hasn't been an issue at all for me. This thing can cast just as far as my Antares DC, and is 95% as smooth! The Antares DC is fun, but the MGL is more of a really high end workhorse imo.
  15. Does anyone else have any comment about using a 6'6" GLX medium lights crankbait rod for throwing small crankbaits and smaller to midsized square bills?
  16. Also do G. Loomis rods run fairly heavy like St. Croix rods do as well? I really want this rod due to the deal, but don't want to get it if it's not going to suit my needs for light squarebills and other crankbaits.
  17. Isn't that rod a graphite rod that is technique based on light cranking?
  18. Mostly due to the medium light rating, or the moderate action? My skeet reese is a wet noodle if I've ever felt one! lol
  19. I am trying to find a replacement rod for my Skeet Reese 7' S glass cranking rod. It's way too heavy, not very sensitive and I'm just not the hugest fan. I bought it because I was just getting into crankin, and needed something fairly cheap. I found a good deal on the G. Loomis Fiber Blend Crankbait Rod 6' 6" ML. I will be using it mainly in open water, very light vegetation. I will be throwing light cranks mostly, with some medium sized squarebills. I'm only 5'4" if that matters. What worries me is how small it is compared to most of my other 7'+ rods. What are your thoughts? I found a good deal on this, so I'd like to get it if I can find a good use for it. Thanks everyone for your help, I really appreciate having this community to share their thoughts and opinions on matters like these for amateurs like myself. lol Stephen
  20. I ended up with the Falcon Weightless Worm Rod. I got a great deal on it by price matching to a sale TW had, the rod trade in program, and using $30 in points from BP. Got the falcon Cara for right at $110! I couldn't find the Avid X in the fast, or XF at BP, just the medium, moderate version.
  21. What's are the major difference between the regular avid, and the avid x? Just the micro guides?
  22. Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm having a tough time trying to compare the weights from Falcon WWR and the St Croix 6'8" M/XF. Also thanks for the advice on the Lamiglass Infinity, it looks amazing but some of the reviews on TW scared me off for spending that kind of money on a rod. I'm sure the issues were overblown, but it still puts me off. Also I know Bass Pro will let you bring your own reel into the store and try it out with different rods, but do you think they would let me put line through the guides and test cast it somewhere so I can get a good feel for it? They have a pond out there and let me test out the Ascend FS12T, so maybe they would let me test out one of their rods before dropping $200 on a new rod, especially since they know me and have seen me spend a couple grand within the last couple months on gear One thing is that the warranty is "only" 15 years compared to the lifetime with the falcon.
  23. Nice catch on the spinning rod there! I fixed it! Do you think the more moderate action would work out better for my situation using the Avid X for weightless Senkos? I want something with a fairly flexible tip to really throw those Senkos out fairly far. I saw on another post on here someone said the love the weightless falcon rod, but not for weightless senkos. lol
  24. I am a huge fan of the Falcon T7 Cara casting rods. I have a Amistad and a finesse jig rod already, and I almost went out to Bass Pro using their rod trade in program to pick up the weightless worm rod for throwing weightless senkos. But then I picked up the St. Croix Avid X "I think it was the 6'8" medium rod that felt great. About an inch or two longer than the Falcon, but it felt super light and comfortable. The price tag is about the same for the two rofs, I was wondering if anyone could share some insight on these two rods, or even a better rod for this specific type of fishing. Something under $200 if possible. Thanks in advance for any help!
  25. I just picked up the Falcon Cara Finesse Jig rod, and I love it. Extremely sensitive, lightweight and has enough backbone to boat flip 5 pound hogs. I fish it mostly with 1/4 oz jigs, and t- rigs. It's rated for 3/16th-5/8th oz lures. It's paired with my Metanium MGL, I love this setup!
