I call a 2-pc rod a travel rod

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a new travel spinning rod for my birthday and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions within a reasonable price range (maybe $100-$160). Thanks!

My first choice would be a Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap and a Strike King Red Eye Shad would be a close second. Haven't really tried anything else.

I personally really like the Keitech Easy Shiner in whichever color you prefer trailing the Zman Custom Chatterbait.

I would use either a 4/0 or 5/0 offset round bend or EWG (extra wide gap).

Both Wacky Rigged and Texas Rigged worms work great, but I tend to lean more towards a T-Rig or shakey head just because I feel I can work it slower with the bass still being able to see it since it sticks up. I always am worried a W-Rig is too buried for the fish to see it but that's just me.

Same with my area. The rain is bittersweet haha. It's helping the drought and ruining the fishing!

Is trimming the skirt on a chatterbait effective like it is on a spinnerbait or is it useless? I was thinking it may help because it will have the same effect, but if not, I won't trim my chatterbaits. Thanks!

Was using a spinnerbait the other day without much success. Any tips on retrieves, line, where to fish them, etc.? Typically the water in my area is clear although it isn't right now, can I still have success with a spinnerbait in clear water? I'm fishing a Booyah spinnerbait in a citrus shad color with 1 silver and 1 gold willow leaves. Thanks for the help!

Definitely bluegill. I haven't seen crawdads but they might be there. There are also these orange newts haha

Hey everyone, I just bought the Zman Chatterbait in the green pumpkin color and was wondering if that's a good choice because I'm mostly gonna be fishing clear water. Also, is it ok to throw on straight braid or should I use a leader? My trailer is the Keitech Easy Shiner btw. Any tips on how to fish it would also be great! Thanks!

Just wanted to know what everyone's favorite bait is to throw on a tough day on the water when you can't catch a fish on anything else. It has been tough lately up here in NorCal so just wanted a little help. Primarily clear water baits btw.

I intend to mostly swim it and fishing it cover such as a lay down or rock pile.

Hi everyone, I've been looking around lately for new jigs that work well. I have experimented with the Booyah Pig Skin jig as well as multiple other misc. jigs and have had little success. Just wanted to hear you guy's favorite brand jigs and favorite colors in those brands for both clear water and dirty water. Caught a few fish a couple weeks ago on a black and blue Booyah in a dirty lake but that's about all my success. Also, could you recommend a trailer? I've been using the Netbait Paca Slim mostly. Thanks!!!

Yeah, California has been rough lately. We have been getting big storms up here in NorCal this week which has slowed fishing a lot.

Any other reels you would suggest? Want to take in all my options. Also still looking for a rod, could be slightly better quality, maybe in the $120 range. Do you know of any rods that could be great for that price? I've been looking at the St. Croix Mojo.
