  1. There was one displayed a few times in posts past. Looks very simple, and similar to how real bass boats "strap down" on the deck. Small bungees and those small mount plastic things you screw into the boat. I can't wait to do this mod! Simple, quick and effective!
  2. Woo! I made it to the end! lol.. this tab has been open for over a week, and I read every single word. Heck, I'm going to go back over it again after this post. I got my Bass Raider 10e August, last year, and have had so much fun out of this little boat. I bought a Minn Kota 55 lb with the largest deep cell battery I could get at the time ($150 battery at Dicks..will get specs later). Also have an 8lb mushroom anchor, that I just wrapped around my seat to hold in place. I also quickly installed a plywood deck inside after reading this thread quickly through just before purchasing the boat last year. I have never tried this boat without the floor, but from what I read last year...the floor was a must! After reading here, I have purchased cleats for each side of the boat, to hold my anchor in place. A "Bigfoot" pedal for the TM. I have marine carpet and adhesive to lay on the plywood. Bought 2 new really nice seats for it yesterday. Now I have to buy a push pole type of thing (sorting out what to do after reading all your posts). Thinking of mounting TM to the front and putting a rudder in the rear. I'm sick of bending my arm back to control it and now with the bigfoot it'd be REALLY good to put it in the front I think. I bought a Deeper Pro+ Sonar this winter using credit card points I had built up. Now, I need to do some type of RAM mount thing for a tablet to pair up with it. Not 100% how I'm going to attach it to the boat, but I was just thinking some braid line and tie it to the handle. Also going to add some straps to each top rail so that the poles can be "secure" a bit.. lol. Always worry about a pole going into the deep Anyways, just figured I'd drop in and thank you all for this epic thread! Some excellent info in here on our little amazing rigs!
  3. If you do it properly, it's just about the best way to have a poor cut of steak! If you need anymore details, I'm available often...hit me up.
  4. How about enhancing the flavor of a poor cut of steak? Try this; Get Cube Steak and marinate it with your favorite recipe. Not too salty though, or they will fall apart. After marinade, lay out the pieces flat in preparations for the next steps. On the side, in a bowl, mix up cream cheese and finely chopped green onion. Spoon on a portion of the mixture onto the steak and spread evenly. Not too much as you don't want it to ooze out too badly, just a bit of a layer. Get your bacon out on the counter and ready to grab pieces of. After, roll the cube steak like you roll up a burrito (minus "tucking" the sides..leave them). Then, wrap (strategically) two pieces of bacon around the cube steak roll up. One piece will go around it one direction, and the other piece will go around it the other direction, so that then entire roll up is wrapped with bacon. At this point they are prepped. Get your grill hot and ready. This isn't an easy process but the end result is extremely tasty. You need to grill the roll ups evenly and don't let them burn! This is bacon over an open fire, so things get "poppy" lol... When the bacon has a sear on all sides and is mostly cooked, I will sometimes baste with my favorite BBQ sauce (usually our homemade sauce) and cook until done. The cream cheese will bubble and slowly find tiny ways out. A little loss is no big deal. This is the most tender and tasty form of this cheap steak cut, I have ever had. So while I agree to not ruin a good steak cut with bacon, I think poor steak cuts are enhanced well with bacon. (try cooked bacon bits, crushed up inside your next homemade burgers!) Ghoti, what's your thoughts on butter basting a steak, when it's not done on the grill? Do you have experience with butter basting? I disagree that streak needs nothing but s+p and searing heat, but certainly this is personal preference.
  5. ^^ That sounds kosher for sure... or for sher?
  6. Wait, you're not allowed to stock your freezer?! This is blasphemy. I do not eat fish, but my dad always used to. He'd catch his limit per day, and not always eat them. After awhile he had a freezer loaded with fish.
  7. I can't help but dislike the "back wrap" on the Alberto. Everything about knot tying specifies to have your wraps clean, symmetrical and not bunched over itself. Well, those "back wraps" on the Alberto seems very ... what's the word. Dirty? Just seems to go against everything I've learned about tying knots in the last year. I'm new at this so I don't like to criticize but this is something I've noticed about the Alberto. Is this knot supposed to be superior to, say, a double uni when using Fluoro to Braid connections? I've only ever done uni to unit and mostly only on a drop shot. Never would cross my mind to worry about the presentation on a vicious bed fish cleaning up the home.
  8. I'm going to be studying Adobe Premiere, I believe I'm no pro though, so beyond that I can not help. I believe the GoPro has an editing app that does most basic editing, as well.
  9. The only rods Lunkers uses are the Favorites. I think he's commented on enjoying them before.. but it's been a few months now. I imagine they are good. We should comment on a video and see what he thinks genuinely after some time with them. He had them a few before we had them available to us (obviously hah ) They seem pretty nifty.
  10. I've been eyeing the Lunkers.Tv edition Favorite Rods. Seem pretty nice
  11. Oooo poly test? Interesting! I like it
  12. Ahh wonderful! I thought I had seen that. Kind of odd though, as there can be quite a difference in weight from a fat 23" fish to a skinny 23" fish. But hey, length works! Just figured for 100k they would step it up, you know?
  13. Man, I'd LOVE to kayak fish a tournament with those high stakes. I'm wondering.. would they use cooler live wells? Seen loads of setups for that. Or does everyone have to have the same digital scale and take pics then message them into the place by, say, 3pm? Like, I know how it goes (generally) with the local yak fishing tourny's but 100k tourny?! Howwww would they track it and how many anglers? It's mind boggling to think of, and supremely exciting at the same time!
  14. I have already made my channel and I put a single video on it, that I quickly made last year, just as a sort of "place holder" for my channel. I'm taking this next month or so, and majorly learning my editing software. Also, I'm going to buy lots of various mounts to have multiple angles. I will message you my YouTube link. Don't want to post my YouTube in the thread, for fear of repercussions. Check your messages Also, please subscribe when you go to the link! *Mods take note, he asked!!*
  15. I have a GoPro and Canon DSLR .. I'm going to get massively into it this year. I will be doing my editing with Adobe Premiere and posting to YouTube multiple times every week. As for tips. I'd recommend either using a pole and RAM mount combo to get the camera out and away from your body, yet focused on you. Or, using a head mount of some type, as chest mounts do not work very good at all in Yaks. Also, buy way more batteries then you think you need!! You'll get roughly 1 hour of continuous recording, and sometimes that's not even the hour that they are biting! I've taken many hour long videos with nothing but a bite or single catch. This is where the plethora of minutes go into editing in the end. More batteries and of course more memory cards. There's a few tips for ya. Also, go out there and watch a lot of the popular YouTube Fisherman videos. Stuff like; Scott Martin / Jon B. / Lunkers.Tv / Lake Fork Guy ... etc. There's lots of amazing channels out there, and the editing of some of these videos is professional quality!
  16. Firstly, thanks so much for reading and taking part in the thread MrMacwvu1! As for "why" I'm not entirely sure, but here's a link to my state's website showing all the dates for fishing season. It's all about the Trout and Salmon I do believe...I'm possibly (probably) wrong here though (If you don't want to navigate to the link, I put the verbage below in quotes) http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/fishing/seasons.html There's no season for Bass for the most part. They mostly care about the rivers and trout it seems? Maybe I can dig in and find out "why" as I'm curious as well Ok, after diggin.. I found all the rules. Wowsers! So, as you can tell... we basically celebrate the first day of fishing up here in New Hampshire! The trout get stocked realllllll good and it's kind of a family tradition. One that I haven't taken a part of in many many years...until this year! So I was hoping someone from New Hampshire, or surround area with experience, could chime in and give me their valued thoughts on this subject
  17. You can't see it? Not a dumb question as much an "in front of your face" question haha No worries, here I am to the rescue!!!!
  18. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  19. BRCrew br1234 I think is what I found.
  20. If you're from the area, then you should know the first day of trout fishing in New Hampshire falls on the 4th April, every year. This day is something that many families have taken a part of annually! My Dad took me out and I'll never forget the feelings of getting up at 2am to get there early to get a spot on the shore... always shoulder to shoulder, but seeing small boats and Yaks launching around us. They would come back of epics tales from the day, and we'd normally have a more tough time on the shore. This year I'm going to partake in this again! It's been many years since I have... I have one spot in mind that I could go, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on ponds / lakes to take my Kayak for the first day this year. It's been over 2 decades since I've taken part in it, but now that I have one of those little boat my dad and I always drooled over, I want to give it a go. Is Stonehouse Pond stocked and ready on the first day? I've always done Lucas Pond or Barbadoes... this year I'm probably doing Lucas Pond if nobody has any suggestions here. Thanks for reading and commenting!
  21. Thanks Darren. I really wanted to get myself out there, and let people know where I stand and why. Thank you! Thanks much! I've been browsing around and I think I found my "home forum" for Bass fishing. I hope to contribute a lot. Hey, I appreciate that A-Jay!! The State Record is now (as I said above) 50 years old this year. SOMEONE needs to break it! Glad you read and enjoyed the intro post. Honestly, I'm impressed that more than 1 person seems to have read the entire thing. Appreciate the words about getting clean....drugs can take away your life on a plethora of levels! I'm glad to be one of the fortunate ones that not only got away from them, but made something of my life as well. Thanks for the welcome from Indiana! Never been that direction before My dad made it very clear I was more than what he ever expected, and I can hold my head in that regard... BUT, now I can "feel" him urging me on to go for this record. To fish every single day! And I will film it all, edit it and present it to the world for everything good and bad that it has, to be displayed. Thanks again Lonnie! Cheers Mike! Appreciate the welcome After reading around the forums, I can see that I will be spending a lot of time around here. Thanks for this awesome place
  22. Wow, there's some really good posts in here to help! Cheers guys. I think Sam n.a.i.l.e.d. it!! I was reading along thinking of what I could add on to what Sam was saying, and it's nearly impossible. lol.. he hit every note. With that said I saw something to add, in a comment after Sam's.
  23. Just joined the group. I'm going to participate in it anyways, may as well join the group too
  24. I just picked up the Berkley Vanish 10lb Fluorocarbon line today. Hope it's decent
  25. Let us know how the jerkbait works out. I just signed up and got the 4 bait promo as well
