How do you put uncle joshes trailers on?
Super Pork! I am not too pleased with Uncle Josh pork trailers (although I will at times use the Phantom Craws). Uncle Josh porks not as soft as I would like them to be, tougher than nails to put on hooks and taking if off is another task in its own. Super Pork is much softer, easier to get on and off hooks, slightly cheaper and holds better action. Give it a shot.

deep running crankbait suggestions
Zipbait MZ-19!!! Hands down the best med-deep diving crank on the market today; or at least for one of the most pressured lakes of all of America (Castaic).

Need Some Help Fishing Rocky Bottoms
Can't believe no one suggested a FAT IKA. Rig it on a #4/0 EWG hook on 10-12# fluorocarbon and work it slowly around rocky areas. It is very weed/snagless. A C-Rig with Rock Hopper sinkers from Mojo is another great pattern.

Lures everyone has, but never catch fish on
Lucky Craft Real California swim baits. Ugh! These things cast horribly.

Best largemouth lure for sunny days?
In my area, when conditions are sunny, windless and crystal clear (water) it is the "tough of death" most of the time. This time of year, the fish are all over the all day long. For this reason, I would choose to fish a Maniac Minnow on 3# test or a small Underspin with a Super Fluke Jr. trailer. If the fish are not chasing shad, I will just about always fish a Zappu Rat Head with various Roboworms or an Inchi Wacky with a 4-5" Senko or Dinger.

Football Jig trailers?

Double Digit (Castaic Lagoon)
I've already posted this in the Western States forum, but someone recommended I should post my report here. So here goes. Met up with Roger, Alan, Ray, Captain Castaic, Jesse and a few others at the lagoon. Everyone caught fish and had a blast cracking jokes at one another. It was a pleasure fishing with you gents and look forward to doing it again. Ray, Roger, Alan and I decided to stay while the rest of the party left. This is when the action got hot! Ray caught is personal best of 4# 10oz. and slayed them all night. He definitely had the hot stick. Although I didn't catch a lot of fish, I kinda made up for the lack of quantity with a toad! Details: Rod: Rogue MB 704C (7' 8-17#) Reel: Team Daiwa TD-X103 HSDF Line: P-Line CXX (8#) Hook: Fina (Arrow Point) Wide Gap #1/0 Lure: Roboworm 7' Fat Straight Tail M.M. III Scent: Smelly Jelly "BASS FEAST"

Favorite Bass Cover
Any cover, lol. Most of the lakes in my area (Southern California) looks like a big bath tub.

best jigs
Skinny Bear Pro Series Jigs. I have heard a lot of great things about Eakins and other jigs, but I personally won't use one that is not HAND TIED. Of all the jigs I have used, hand tied jigs tend to flare out considerably more than bulk production jigs that utilizes rubber bands to secure the skirts.

baitcasting reels ?
I know you made the comment in good humor. A lot of things said on message boards are taken out of its original context and for this reason, I tend to add a "lol" or "JK" after some of my comments just in case. haha. Well, it is time to go fishing. Hope you have a great Christmas Eve.

baitcasting reels ?
Shimano fan and disses the Navy... we are not going to get along, lol... I am a BIG fan of Daiwa and an 8 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. To answer the poster's ?, I would suggest a TD Advantage HST. It runs for $130 and for the price, it is a solid reel. Once you get better with bait casting reels, then you can step it up to the TD Sol, Fuego, TD-X, Zillion and ultimately the STEEZ.

Your # 1 rod choice
Pimping a sponsors product, how fitting. ;D Here we go... lol. I am sponsored by Rogue Rods not via bass fishing, but through my surf fishing knowledge here in Southern California. Surf fishing is a fast growing sport here in Southern California and I am fortunate enough to have gotten sponsored by a product company I believe in. Raymond of Fishing 25 in Los Angeles is my bass fishing mentor and through him, I hope to transition smoothly into competitive bass fishing. My first love is the salt, but since bass fishing is the most competitive sport (fishing) out there, I have decided to become a student of the sport. Well, I hope that explains my avatar and look forward to meeting some of you guys on the water. BTW, Rogue ROCKS! lol. Happy holidays.

Your # 1 rod choice
Personally, I have been using Rogue Rods for the last few years and absolutely love their design philosophy. They are the lightest rods I have ever used, all spined properly (something G. Loomis is horrible at), priced VERY reasonably and in my opinion one of the best USA rod makers on the market today. Bob Loomis designed many of their rods and it is an honor to be sponsored by them. With a $30 warranty cost (not $50 like other rod manufacturers), I think paying less for a superior rod just makes sense.

Thanks for the welcome gents. I absolutely love this site! The best bass site I have yet to find!

go to bait
5" Senko and Fat Ika for size. For quantity, I do well with dropshotted Roboworms 4" and 6" straight tail.
