  1. On my old 12ft jon(no deck) I used those two batteries, and even on a slightly windy day, I could fish for maximum of 8hrs. I usually gun it to this one spot on the endura c2 55lb, at the highest setting, which takes about 40min. Going to that spot, then back to the ramp will drain one battery, and the other battery is for moving from spot to spot. Total weight of that rig was approx. 530ish lbs. (me, friend, batts, and gear). So given that the 14ft will have added weight from the deck the bow-mount trolling motor, and more batteries if I need them to fish longer. I'm thinking that; more weight=less speed=longer time it takes to get somewhere, thus the batteries will not provide sufficient power to even fish 8hrs. So how much "weight" can I actually put on the boat? Because If i can put 4 or 5 batteries on there, then I guess I should be good? Phew I know that was a lot, Thanks guys. This does definetely help, Thank you!
  2. I wish I could therow a gas outbord on the back, but almost all of the places around me are electric only rez's.
  3. I just got a 14ft jon boat that is decked and don't really know how much more weight I can put on the thing. Ive got a 55lb thrust endura c2 on the back, and a 45lb thrust edge on the front. How many batteries would I need to run the boat for a whole day? I've got one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Nautilus-31-Deep-Cycle-Marine-Battery-31MDC/205309650 which weighs about 50lbs and also a: https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-xps-power-series-12-volt-marine-agm-deep-cycle-battery that weighs 63lbs... How many more batteries could I put on my boat? Also, Ive read that running them in parallel will increase their efficiency, so ideally I would have two for the back, and two for the front? Thanks guys. Im completely lost.
  4. I have a Daiwa ss sv... Its. 5.3:1 but the thing has an aluminum main gear and only 8lbs of drag. It weighs 5.4oz... Will it be alright to crank up to an 8xd on it?
  5. Ok thanks! I just thought that since the SV spool is made for light baits, it might be bad to fish a high resistance crankbait that puts so much torque on the gears. Thanks for the reassurance!!!
  6. I've been reading around, and can't seem to find a decent priced, low profile bait caster that has a gear ratio in the 5:1's and is left handed. This reel will be for 6xd's to 8xd's. Can anyone recommend a good reel that's under $130? Also, will fishing a 5xd with a 6.3:1 Tatula SV harm the reel? Thanks guys
  7. Ive been seeing mixed answers on this topic, and im looking to purchase a setup for fishing Swimbaits and A-rigs. The rod I am getting is the iRod genesis 7'10 A-rig special, the reel is a 13 fishig ***. As far as line goes, should I go with 50-65lb braid, or 20lb cxx/hybrid? Thanks!
  8. So when water levels go down just refill? And also can you explain to me why AGM's are so much more expensive if they perform the same? thanks so much
  9. I currently have a 92ah agm battery that I use for my trolling motor on a 12ft jon. The trolling motor is my main motor(transom), because I can only use electric motors at the lake I fish. I want to get another battery, but AGM batterys are 2-3x more expensive. Can someone explain to me all the nuances and how/what maintenance i will have to do after every trip if I get a normal/flooded battery?
  10. Can I fish a 6" Ben Parker Flutter sppon that is 2.5oz, on a medium heavy rod rated to 1oz without doing harm to the rod? Also, how easy would I have to cast it out if this is possible?
  11. So just for reassurance, 12# sniper would be good for 1/4oz bitsy flips to 3/8 football heads?
  12. Yeah the Gorge is getting some work done to it as well... Hopefully there both not closed.
  13. Exact same problem happened to me with braking off a crankbait. Is using a braid-leader setup for jigs better than straight braid/fluoro? I just dont like throwing braid-leader because I feel like the leader knot is gonna break my guides when a cast... I used to fish it and the leader knot just felt "unsafe". Any reccommended knots? For fishing 5xd/bandit 250, would 10# be better or worse?
  14. Anyone know whats going on with the Rocky Gorge Reservoir this year? The water level dropped at least 15-20 ft
  15. I just started bass fishing last summer and am gearing up for this coming spring. Can anyone reccommend what brand(Seaguar/Sunline/etc), and # of line for the lures in the question. I rather would run straight line, no leaders. Thanks!
