  1. I've had the urge lately to walk the beach using a metal detector. Does anyone have or use metal detectors? Are they fun? What are some good brands/types?

  11. sorry for the late bump. What was the winning weight and big fish? winning weight was just over 17 pounds and big fish was 6.2 i believe. I know it was 6 but unsure on the ounces. He took both places

  14. My tournament partner eats everyone he catches over a pound and a half. He gets so frickin aggravated fishing for LM when the peacocks keep hitting. I haven't tried them yet but he said they are quite good. Although I think he eats them out of anger....

  18. I'm sure there are other reels out there, But the only reel that I know of that specifically states in the owners manual NOT to use in saltwater is the Diawa Sol. Shimanos and Penns are hands down the best for both applications.

  20. I bought a new heating element from SEARS. $49. plus tax. I installed in 2 minutes and everything is working fine. I probably saved $80 doing it myself. And with the help of yall. Thank you everyone. Do you think I now qualify to take my baitcasters completely apart for cleaning?

  24. Thanks. I took the heating element off and one of the springs is broken. Would that be the problem? The springs are also burnt pretty bad.
