  1. How do you know if your rod is properly balanced?
  2. stay home or use shiners,,,
  3. Just lower the left side of the bumper....problem solved.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I will take it in for repair.
  5. I dug these up and thought I'd share with the rest of yall.
  6. Pour some JJ'S majic in her vents.
  7. I have a Minn Kota Riptide that does the same thing. Mine is almost 2 yrs old. It cuts off after it's been running for a while. I have to turn it off for a couple minutes to, I guess cool off, and back on again. I always thought there was a built in "overheat" thing-a-majiggy" that would automatically shut it off when it gets too hot but maybe I'm wrong..
  8. Make one of your swim baits. There is a definite "science" to making a good one.
  9. either you have the whitest toe nails or you paint them!!
  10. I always try to fish into the wind when fishing from shore. My theory is, the wind blows the bait to the end of the lake which attract the the bass.
  11. Since you feel so strong about O.J, then why don't you become his pen pal? Yall can have a long, meaningful relationship while he spends his LIFE is prison.
  12. On all 12 felony charges. I guess you can get away with murder but not robbery. Chances are he will spend the rest of his life in prison. And what's ironic is that he was found guilty exactly 13 yrs to the day from being found innocent of the homicides. I bet he hates the number "13" now...
  13. Definately use round for shad.
  14. Good story Paul. I take much of your advice to heart because I know you catch big fish. Several of the different lures recommended to me by you have produced decent fish. I also know you enjoy using live bait (gills) with awesome results so if you say this new lure is the BOMB then I'm hooked.
  15. What did you say the gate code was ?
  16. Russell, are you still with us? It's ok if you are throwing dishes against the wall, kicking the dog/cat or shouting obscenities at your neighbors for no apparent reason. Just don't go breaking your rods.
  17. Guaranteed you are city born and raised. Born and raised in Florida. No cold temps here but plenty of hogs.
  18. Under no circumstances do I even allow them into the boat, unless I'm going to sell them as catfish to the Hatians.
  19. 1 for flipping. 2 for worms 1 for super fluke 1 for topwater rapala 1 for crank bait 1 for swimbait That's usually it.
  20. Here's my experience and that of people who I talk to out on the lakes. Some people slow troll along the canal banks using a black over gold rapala, like the one in the BR Lure Fun. I have been getting them pretty regularly on chrome rattle traps and cranks. I use chartreuse, fire tiger and red cranks as does a couple of my buddies. Another friend of mine doesn't really target Peacocks but catches them on the Zoom super fluke while going for regular bass. My experience is they like bright colors and the bait to be fished erratic. Our best bite comes between 10am and 3pm (Palm Beach County). As mentioned earlier, try using a jig or worm when they are bedding. Simply lay it in the bed slowly bounce it around but I'm not big on bed fishing. Lastly, Don't use any lures that you don't mind tearing up. The Peacocks will certainly tear a lure up after a days fishing.
  21. I don't get it...
  22. Is it "how much the bag weighs" or "how much the bag weighs with all the gear?"
  23. I went to the bridge tonight for a little Snook action. I got there about an hour before high tide and to my surprise was the only one there. The weather wasn't great. Not a ripple on the water and NO breeze. Humidity had to be in the 90's. The sweat was dripping from my chin but I wasn't leaving. There was a ton of mullet around but very few blasts, which isn't a good thing. I managed to get this dink on live shrimp. I was fishing #17 mono with no leader. (I know, I'm a retard) The tide changed and started going out so I moved to the other side of the bridge. I looked down along one of the pylons and there she was. She was a beauty. Too big to keep but would be a heck of a fight. She had to be around 30 pounds. She would come to the surface, look around and go back down. I spent a good hour trying to get her to eat but no dice. She knew better. I tried live shrimp and mullet but she just wasn't interested in a tiny appetizer, she wanted a feast. I managed to catch a lady fish about 14 inches long. I thought to myself for a moment and said "why not?" I was using #30 Ande mono with 4' of #50 flourocarbon leader and a 5/0 mustad hook. I hooked the Ladyfish on the top by the dorsal fin and started laughing because my hook was way too small. I eased her down infront of that monster Snook and she attacked it within seconds. I set the hook and pulled the scaleless, lifeless Ladyfish right out of her mouth. I catch another Ladyfish about the same size but this time I hooked her in the air bladder (throat). She dives straight down and all of a sudden.. BAAAAAM. I get freight trained. I could barely pull my drag out by hand but this snook was peeling it off like my reel was in free spool. All I could do was just hold on and cross my toes. She gave me a good 5 second adreniline rush before applying her gill plates to my #50 leader and popping me off. I simply smiled, blew her a kiss, and came home. I'll be back tomorrow night but this time my reel will be spooled with #50 Ande and #80 leader.
  24. I may have misread your post but is appears your principal is trying to scare the student body into behaving by threatning them with the police. The principal does not write or enforce the laws of the state and I'm sure law enforcement is not going to violate the 4th ammendmant at the requestof the principal or anyone else. The 4th ammendmant applies to everyone regardless of age. Your employer may search your desk, computer or locker without notice if those items belong to the company. But as far as just stopping a car to do a random search because the principal said so ain't gonna happen. Or if it does happen, then I hope there was probable cause to do so or someone could be in BIG doodoo.
