  1. Have you checked the updated E6x rods. They are excellent. The ones I’ve fished and can highly recommend are the 802 jwr, 783c and 843c mbr rods. Very well balanced and they all fish well.
  2. Which tender do you recommend?
  3. The E6X 802 JWR is also a fantastic rod in a similar vein. It has a nice soft tip with a slightly faster taper than the CR, which are like the MBR rods. It balances great, is a very accurate caster, and light. I agree that the E6X is a much nicer rod that the St Croix Avid series. All you have to do is hold them side by side and it's apparent. My old Loomis CR723 is one of my favorites too. The CR723 is a great all around rod for close casting situations. The 722 is lighter and will be a great all around rod for lighter lures, in more open water situations.
  4. Dobyns Champion 734 or 735 depending on how heavy jigs you want to use. Tatula 7'1" heavy would be sweet too. It would be less money too.
  5. Nice! I love my old IMX CR723. It's great for tight spaces.
  6. I learned the FG here. I have zero issues tying it this way. It takes me about 1min start to finish. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pjzUb5QRKuk
  7. Tatula SV tws 7 speed, with 30lb power pro.
  8. I just got my 702c. What a great action rod. It has a faster action than I thought it would. Super light and well balanced. I might not pick up my medium action spinning rod much next season.
  9. I store, and transport my rods in them. I'll put 4-5 rods in a tube, and put the whole thing in my car
  10. I use Red Label Seaguar for leaders because I like that it's a little stiffer than InvizX. Other than that I like mono for leaders also. I like that the fluoro sinks, and usually has a smaller diameter than mono of the same pound test, other than that I stick with mono for the better knot strength.
  11. I mostly fish with 1/4-3/8oz bullet weights, mostly pegged, with lizards, worms, and craws. 12-15lb mono or fluoro leaders on 30lb braid. This is my hook of choice with worms and lizards. Mustad grip pin big bite hooks. I like to use 8" Mann's Jelly worms, and this has a bigger bite than some off set hooks. Great hook up ratio with these hooks. Craws, I use an EWG hook.
  12. I'm not sure, but I think it's just the materials from NFC. It's unclear who is actually making the blanks. Maybe someone else has the exact answer?
  13. For me, at the price (IMX-Pro are actually a lower price) I would get an IMX-Pro any day.
  14. The guides have been changed to Fuji brand guides.
  15. d**n, the new price is $350.00 Doesn't seem like it will fly with most people.
  16. I just bought a Loomis 802c JWR. Looking forward to having a light casting rod. I've always had 3 and 4 power Loomis casting rods. Do you use yours for finesse type presentations like small jigs, and poppers? Thanks
  17. Yeah. I love the Darth Vader style
  18. I did the same with zero regrets. 2-Tatula LT 2000 , and 2 Tatula LT 3000 in the shallow spool version. Killer reels.
  19. A 7 or 8 speed reel will work better for you than a 6 speed reel. First so you can retrieve out of the unproductive areas faster so you can make your next cast. Second, when you hook a fish in some cover you will be able to turn them faster, because the reel is faster. You can use 6 speed reels but they are not as effective, and might tire you out quicker.
  20. Premier line and up are US made.
  21. They are great reels, and it is true the handles can break if hard contact is made. I used mine with braided line exclusively.
  22. Excellent reels. I have three with two seasons on them with zero issues.
  23. If you can get a Tatula SV TW for this price get it! Fantastic reel for any application.
  24. The MBR taper is my favorite of all time. I love the original IMX MBR rods. For what you are describing, a 4 power Loomis MBR would work great. Also, when you are not pitching you will have totally excellent rod for tons of fishing applications. It's a hell of a jig/T-Rig rod, as well as swim jigs, chatterbaits, and spinner baits when casting.Win/win for you.
  25. The blank is the magic. Nice components and a clean simple build. They are very light and sensitive.
