  1. After spending a great deal of time now actually using the BPS Wacky stiko-O I am completely impressed. This thing has outfished a SK Ocho all season. I also bought a few of the RI Pocket Rockets just to compare and the BPS bait blows them both out of the water. I don’t know what it is about this bait buts it’s been catching a ton of bass for me and a good number of big ones too. I stick with 2 colors; green pumpkin and junebug. Just those two colors have been getting it done for me. I have taken a lot of time comparing this bait to others now and my final review is that these BPS wacky Stik-Os are phenomenal and have taken over as my wacky rig bait of choice. Plus you get 16 baits for $6. I can’t say these are any more or less durable than other baits; sometimes they rip after one fish and sometimes you can catch 5 or 6+ with one bait. I was using an oring for a while but I like the action better without one. I also use a VMC Neko Hook (size #2) as my wacky hook. I have not thrown these on a wacky jighead yet so I can’t speak for that technique. I do wish they offered these in a few different colors though. I LOVE the Missile Baits “48” worm in their fishalicious color; I sure wish bps made a similar color in this bait.
  2. After throwing the 90’s and 110’s for a year I have to say I love the new 75’s. Not that I didn’t catch bass on the 90 or 110 but I did have times where the 90 would start to spin on me. But again; they did catch fish. However; this new 75 is awesome. It’s a little heavier than the 90 and it’s the “newer” style like the 110’s. Good hooks; good split rings and the same tail as the 110. But a new profile designed more like a crankbait. I have found zero issues with this new bait and have found it runs great at a slow to moderate retrieve. Plus I believe it’s just as loud in the water as the 110. This was the whopper plopper I was really waiting for. First (and only trip) out with them; wow!! I actually sold all of my ploppers to make way for eight of these new baits. I tried to post a few pics of my success but I guess the file size was too big :(
  3. Let's see if I can bring this post alive again. I have now tried the 3.5 and the 4.5 360GT's so far and have had fairly mixed results. I have had great days with the baits and some no-fish days with these baits. Personally; I like the 4.5" version better than the smaller one. The larger baits just seems to have better action. Two weeks ago I was out on a local lake and was having a very uneventful day throwing many different baits. I tied on a 4.5" 360GT and finally caught my only two Bass of the day. I just purchased several colors in the 5.5" version and am really looking forward to getting those out on the water. My home lake has a good supply of Bass (Green and Brown); Muskies and Hybrid Stripers so I am thinking the the 5.5 might work even better. I cannot find much info on the 5.5 online so I wonder if anyone out there is throwing the largest version. I would imagine that thing is really going to kick around as opposed to the other two. I saw how much better the 4.5 was than the 3.5 so I am thinking the 5.5 might be even better? Has anyone else on here used the largest of the three sizes; I would be curious to hear of anyone's success (or lack there-of). It seems like just about everyone out there is throwing the smallest 3.5 version. The one thing I do notice about this bait is I lose some fish. I am thinking I am so used to a reeling or sweeping hookset (I fish finesse most of the time) that I am just not setting the hook properly. These baits; especially the 4.5's have a pretty beefy 4/0 hook. Again; I think I am not setting the hook properly all the time. The largest version comes with a very stout 7/0 hook in the jighead; I would imagine I'm really going to have to rip some lips when setting the hook with these. Does anyone else tend to lose fish with these; it appears as if the hookpoint is very sharp.
  4. I am new to Whopper Ploppers this year. After reading many comments on this page I ended up ordering 6 of them back in the wintertime. I ordered Loon, Bone and Munky Butt (2 of each) all in the 110 size. I have thrown them twice now on different bodies of water and have had excellent results. Like all of the comments and videos have shown; those Bass annihilate these things. So far I have only thrown the Loon color but hopefully this weekend I'll be on a different lake where I believe the Munky Butt color will really shine. So far so good; I LOVE these baits. I have caught Bass of all different sizes. The one lake I fish was just refilled two years ago after the Dam was repaired (it sat empty for several years). Supposedly they only restocked the lake with fingerling Bass (which should have grown to around 10" or so by now); but my first cast with a Plopper 110 landed me a beautiful 3 pounder. I hooked another one at least the same size shortly after but she wrapped me into a flooded bush. I lost the fish unfortunately as she wrapped me down in about 6 feet of water; but on a positive note; I was able to eventually retrieve my Plopper.....whew!
  5. All this negativity on the Lew's Mach Crush Combo; haha. I did purchase both a baitcasting AND a spinning combo and let me tell you; they are worth every penny I paid for them. They are very lightweight; very smooth and the casting reel casts farther than any other casting reel I have ever owned. The rods are very sensitive and the winn grips are awesome. I could go on and on but then I would sound like a Lew's commercial. The bought the ML spinning combo for finesse baits and it's phenomenal (Ned Rigs, Neko Rigs, 4" Wacky Rigs); the MH casting combo is used for swimbaits and Whopper Ploppers and handles them very well. As per a previous comment; "but I would prefer to hear reviews from people on forums that have actually used it before spending my money on it"; so this is my quick review. I personally wouldn't trade these combos for anything else; that's how much I love them (plus they look pretty darn cool as well, haha).
  6. On My 2017 Pro-160 I have the crappy RPM gauge which only sometimes works. I just use my GPS to determine Speed. As far as voltage; I use my electronics to show me crankin' battery voltage and I am having a voltage gauge installed on the console for the deep cycle battery; it's going to cost me about $100-$125 to have installed.
  7. I use (and recommend) the Berkley 1/16 oz. Half Head Jigs; the hooks are nice and sharp and they appear to be very well made. I have yet to have an issue with them.
  8. Although I have yet to fish with the Roboworm Ned Worms yet I think they are going to be a fantastic bait. I have already ordered (and received) 24 packs of these in 8 different color patterns to cover any water clarity I may encounter. I personally do not really like the TRD's; I've had equal results with a 3" BPS Stik-O. But the Roboworms appear to be a great bait; they are very soft and should have a ton of action (not stiff like a lot of the other 3" stick worms). But what I really like is the flat underside; this is going to give the bait a very nice gliding action. I am so confident in these that I have already passed on all of my other Ned Rig baits. I will also be throwing these ONLY on Berkley 1/16 oz. Half Head Jigs. The small weight of the jighead should make the gliding action even better. Plus these are a Roboworm product; need I say any more : )
  9. I own a 2017 Tracker Pro-160 and this Anniversary Boat is the exact same boat as my Pro-160; with the exception of the colors etc. I can say that my Tracker Pro-160 with 20 HP ELPT cost more than this new boat with a 40 on it. Plus I need to spend an additional $440 for the cover. For $10,000 you get everything. If I would have not bought my new boat last season I would actually consider this boat. Yes; the colors may take a little getting used too; but it's all about the fishing; not really what the boat looks like, haha! So my thoughts are.....if you're looking for a new boat and don't want to spend a years salary on one then take a look at this thing. I am very impressed with my PRO-160 so I can vouch for the boat itself; plus this ones cheap enough that you don't need to take out a loan for it.
  10. Just curious if anyone out there has tried the new Powerbait Rib Toad. This is a new bait Berkley has released and it looks awesome. Unfortunately there are not a whole lot of consumer reviews up on the web yet. There's just a couple and it seems like mixed results out of the 4-5 reviews available. So just wondering if anyone on here has tried them yet. I think they look great; I ordered (and received) them in Black and Bullfrog. Unfortunately I have not had an opportunity to fish with them yet. It's probably a good few months yet until the water will be warm enough to throw one (the lakes are mostly frozen over around here right now). I will be rigging these frogs with a Gamakatsu 5/0 Superline EWG Hook which has been my staple for Horny Toads and Rage Shad etc. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-BERKLYSFBTS.html?from=basres
  11. Oh no; you weren't supposed to tell me that, haha. I have been using the Yum Dingers and the Missile Baits 48 worm for my wacky rigs but I decided to make the switch to the BPS Stik-o's. But when I went online looking for the stik-o's I saw this wacky stick-o and really liked the look and features of the bait. I went ahead last night and pulled the trigger on the wacky stik-o's so I hope my experience with this shape/style of bait is better than yours. I ordered these wacky stiko-s in Junebug, Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Red Flake.....at least I got the colors right so far, HAHA : ) I do agree with you though that BPS has been raising their prices lately. Fortunately I got the discount card when I bought my tracker aluminum boat last season so I get 20% off all BPS branded products.
  12. I personally never liked the Reaction Innovations baits; they smell terrible in a plasticy kind of way. I have always liked the BPS soft plastics and at $5.99 for a bag of 16 it's a pretty good deal. As far as making a copy, everyone copies everyone now so I don't see an issue with BPS releasing this bait. How many Senko knockoffs are on the market (everyone makes one)? I would take a BPS soft plastics over a Reaction Innovations soft plastic 7 days a week (just my personal opinion).
  13. http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-wacky-stik-o-worm Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to try out this new Bass Pro Shops Worm; the Wacky Stik-O Worm? Honestly; I think these things look pretty AWESOME! I was a huge fan of the Missile Baits 48 Worm for my Wacky duties; but I really like the looks of these a lot. I'll probably be placing my order for them in the next day or so. I plan on going with Junebug, Green Pumpkin and Watermelon Red Flake; I think that should cover most water conditions here in the Northeast. I know this subject has been hashed out many times before on this page but what worms do you all use for Wack Rigging? What's everyone else think about this new product from BPS? I like the small 4.5" design; the color selection (while minimal) covers all of the basics as far as i'm concerned. Is this something anyone else would consider trying?
  14. I started out with 16 packs in 4 different colors. Then I upped it and ordered 12 more packs in 4 other colors. I really like this bait. With the small #1 hook on the Berkley Half Heads it leaves a lot of bait after the hook. The bait is super soft and it should give a very nice action. In researching this bait online before purchasing I read numerous times where folks say that this bait will float/stand straight up as well. Not that I am 100% concerned about that because I used to use the BPS 3" Stik-O's which didn't stand up and I caught a ton of fish with those as well. The last bait I used was a 1/2 of a Missile Baits 48 worm which worked really well but once I found these new Roboworm baits I said goodbye to all of the others. I started out with the TRD's back in 2016 when they came out but I actually didn't like them a whole lot and sold all of them. Another thing I love about the Roboworms is the flat underside; that should give the bait a really nice gliding action on lighter jigheads. Roboworm has always made top quality baits and I think this new Ned Worm is well worthy of the Roboworm brand. I hope you and I both have MANY successes out on the water with these baits; I'm sure we will : )
  15. Sorry Birdman; I only saw your question today. I use the VMC Ike approved wacky hooks in a size 2/0.
  16. I now own 256 of the beauties in 8 different colors. In my opinion; this will be the best Ned Worm ever created. I personally am not a huge fan of the TRD's so I spent a lot of time looking for "MY" Ned Bait; I am thinking this is the one. This fits perfectly with a Berkley Half Head 1/16 oz. jighead......LOVE IT! Stay tuned in 2018 for my full review on these baits once I have them on the water for a while.
  17. I know I'm a little late to respond to this post but I did get out with the RipStops for the first time last Saturday. Here in PA air temp was around 39 and water temp was 56. I fished a very familiar lake and struck out for the first two hours without as much as a small nibble on my regular baits. So I tied on a RipStop and headed down towards the dam and started fishing shoreline rocks and rip-rap......SCORE! The issue I had was that after about 10 minutes the first RipStop I had on wasn't running very well. I took a closer look and the boot tail broke off. Strange since I didn't even hit any rocks with it.....yet. I retied a new bait and the action began. I ended with a very successful morning. Bass were hitting it shallow at the rocks and I even had a few come up from the depths to nail the bait out in the open. So I was very impressed with the action and abilities of the bait; it certainly caught bass. I was disappointed though with the quality. I did email Rapala and received a quick response though along with the claim form. They stated that all of their products have a one year warranty. So I filled out the form and sent it back to them a few days ago. So hopefully they will send me a replacement soon (or a whole case of them, haha). If not for the broken boot tail I would easily give them a 10/10; but because of the issue I'll drop it down to an 8/10. ***UPDATE*** Rapala had a replacement bait delivered to me within 10 days of sending back the broken one; so GREAT customer service from Rapala!
  18. I LOVED the book. Before reading it I only owned baitcasting gear and fished traditional bass baits. After reading the book I sold all of my rod and reels and tackle and went 100% finesse. It was the most important moment in my fishing "career". The book is an easy read; gives the basics on finesse techniques (and then goes a bit more in depth) in an easy to read and informative way. The book is a few years outdated now; it doesn't include Ned Rigs and Neko Rigs but it's still an awesome book. This to me was the most defining fishing book I have ever read. I have reread the book about 10 times now and it seems like I pick out something new every time I read it. So I definitely say "go for it" and buy the book. You should certainly not be disappointed.
  19. Sorry; I wasn't trying to insult you in any way, haha! As a side note to my post; I am a finesse-only Bass Fisherman which is why I am so excited about this bait. I can use this bait for just about every finesse technique I use. My tackle bag is a lot smaller now and a lot more organized since one bait covers so many different uses. But just because it works so well for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone. We all live in different places across the country and we all fish different lakes. All I can say is that these work very well for me on my local highly pressured waters.
  20. Actually most places sell them for $5 and you get 8 baits per pack making them $.63 each. Bit to each there own; right? With the durability and fish catching abilities of this bait I have no issue spending $5 a pack. But that's me. But seriously; buy one pack and try them : ) Sorry to hear you didn't like this. I hope my "review" didn't mis-represent them to you. I LOVE them on a wacky rig; especially on a wacky jighead. I like the skinnier middle; I personally think it gives them better action on a wacky rig; but just my two cents, haha. I still like the Berkley Shaky Snakes for the Neko Rig but the 48's have been doing well for me on the rig as well. Not to be stupid; but do you keep your rod tip up when fishing the Neko Rig? Just asking!
  21. Anyone else using this bait yet? I am very surprised at the lack of comments on this post. All I can say is that if you are not using this bait for any of the many techniques it can be used for you are really missing out. It's been a while since I started this topic and the results with this bait have gotten even better. The only difference from my original post is that I use it for more techniques now and I have absolutely been loving the fishalicious color; it's been my number one bait this fall so far. If you're on FB; be sure to like Missile Baits page; they are doing a series on the 48 different ways you can rig the 48 worm; good stuff!
  22. I could not find any info on the Missile Baits 48 on here so I thought I would get things started. Let me first start by saying I LOVE the Missile Baits "The 48". This is a fairly new bait released by Missile and is now available from most major tackle dealers online. I would say in my own words that this may just be the very best (finesse) bait ever created. May I also add that I am in no way associated with Missile Baits; nor do I get product from them or any monetary rewards. Honestly; up until about 3 months ago I really wasn't too keen on the baits they manufactured. But all of that changed! About three weeks ago I received an email from Tackle Warehouse; in that email they were basically showcasing new products to correspond with iCast. In that email I saw an interesting little bait called "the 48"; which basically stands for the fact that it is a 4.8" worm style bait. In recent years I have NOT been the kind of person to go out and buy all the latest and greatest. But for some reason this one appealed to me; given the fact that I love fishing a wacky rig is probably what made it stand out. Plus the usual great write-up on the description of the bait really sucks you in, haha. They state quite a bit about the versatility of this bait which also sounded very good. I received my initial supply of 48's in Black, Green Pumpkin and Super Bug. My first impression upon opening the bag.....WOW! My second and third and fourth impressions after having this out on the water numerous times now.....WOW! Could this be the best bait ever created for the lakes that I fish here in SE, PA......ABSOLUTELY! Is this one of; if not the most versatile baits created.....ABSOLUTELY! The colors are great; the design is fantastic, the durability is phenomenal (they are super tough) and the price is not too shabby either. You get 8 of these baits for $4.99 which is about par for a top quality bait. I had wished they were a little cheaper but after using them and seeing the durability first hand I have no issues with the price. I use this bait on a weightless wacky rig which is first and foremost why I was excited about this bait. It has not disappointed one bit. With the skinnier mid-section of the bait the action while it is sinking in the water is awesome. I do also use an o-ring with this bait like I always have with other worm. It's still meaty in the mid-section though so an o-ring fits it very well. I have had great success with this bait and have caught a few nice bass along with numerous solid "keepers". With the o-ring I have had just one bait last a whole 5-6 hour trip out on the lake. The second great technique for this bait is a Ned Rig; all you do is cut the bait in half and you now have two Ned Rig baits. The worm is 4.8" so you now have a top quality Ned Rig bait that measures in at 2.4"; just the right size in my opinion. And man does this catch Bass. My first trip with this rigged up Ned Style was this past weekend. I certainly caught a few but the trip was highlighted by a beautiful 4lb+ bass caught in shallow water. What a great fight on my Ned Rig Rod (Lew's ML 6-7" Mach Speed Stick) and 6 lb. test line. The bait held up well during the battle as well; it is still rigged up and ready for the next trip out on the water. The manufacturer also states that this bait can be rigged just like a texas rigged weightless Senko,it can be rigged on a Neko Rig, it can be tail weighted with a nail for an equal action to the Havoc Back Slide. It sounds like the possibilities are endless with this bait. I believe it will work well in all of those cases. Although I only use this bait for wacky and Ned Rigging I am sure I will break out and use it for other techniques as well. Anyone else use this bait yet? If so; are you equally impressed? I LOVE this bait; just in case you haven't guessed that already......HAHA!
  23. That is true; Berkley has always been great to me in the past. But in preparing for the end of the Havoc Line (just in case) I am in the process of switching over to Missile Baits. The Fuse 4.4 works nearly the same as the back slide (you must insert a small nail) and the new "48" worm is the BEST wacky worm ever made : )
  24. Bass Pro Shops now carries the Rocket Craw in a Powerbait version (they also carry the Pit Boss in the Powerbait version). I email Berkley often with questions and they have always been great about replying to me. But I emailed them about a month ago to ask them about the Havoc line and whether they were planning on closing it down and they have not replied to me. I thought they were discontinuing the back slide and emailed them (a year or more ago) and they got back to me and said they were NOT discontinuing that bait. Low and behold they did; I was ticked at them for lying to me about it. If you look at most online catalogs now most companies have really cut back on their stock of Havoc; so I too believe that this line is on it's way out. Which is a shame; they are AWESOME baits.
  25. I realize this is an old topic but I thought I would bring it back alive again, haha. Last season I started out Ned Rigging and have grown very fond of it. I started with a 3" BPS Stik-O worm and did quite well. This years I wanted something different so I found the Fuse 4.4 which has been working quite well on the lake Bass here in PA. But in wanting to downsize just a bit I just ordered the Drop Craw to handle some of my Ned Rigging duties. I could have just cut off an inch of the Fuse 4.4 but I like the color selection a little better on the Drop Craw. I am thinking/ hoping this bait works out very well for Ned Rigging (and I am sure it will). This bait should also double as my trailer for the new Z-Man Shroomz Micro Finesse Jigs. The Drop Craws are $4 for a pack of 15; it doesn't get much cheaper than that. Stay tuned for a full report; but I am hoping for great things.
