  1. I think the one this year comes with a better transducer. I have the one from last year and I think it has the cv 52. Which doesn't have the down view element.
  2. I agree putting a PA over head will never be easy. I don't even like putting my outback on my truck rack. Its so simple to just slide it into the bed when I've been on the water all day.
  3. I had this same question last year and finally chose the outback. I decided I wanted to do more saltwater fishing and surf launching a PA didn't appeal to me. Good luck with your decision.
  4. Good luck at Whitehurst I've tried a dozen times or so and haven't had much luck. Finally gave up and started the saltwater thing.
  5. I like 30lb to a 12 lb fc leader kind best of both imo.
  6. I notice the uni to uni catching sometimes. It's more of a slight tick than actually catching though. I've started to use the fg Knot and it doesn't even tick going through.
  7. I use a major craft and a tat sv it does ok. It's not going to win any distance contest though.
  8. I went with the 9" echomap plus but I think a 7 would be sufficient.
  9. 30lb 832 braid and 12lb fc leader no problem with dig in. I'm also using shallow spools not sure if that changes things for you.
  10. It sounds like maybe they are picking it up and trying to move it.
  11. Med heavy. I really want to try the lt. Med heavy though.
  12. I have tried both the tat sv and curado 70 on my 7.1 h3 and I like the 70 much more but it really is just personal preference. You could always get both and sell the one you don't like.
  13. Recently purchased a kistler h3 and I'm very satisfied.
  14. Helix 7 and 8 both have mega imaging now I'm waiting on some reviews but that is probably the direction I will go. I just checked the humminbird website.
  15. I have 3 labs and I keep swearing the next one will be a golden. What great dogs, you are a lucky guy. Oh and nice fish too.
  16. I don't know what the topic is but I think the dogs are great.
  17. Lake Smith is ok as long as it's during the week. They renovated recently and added a lot of area for bank fisherman. I do the Kayak thing and mostly fish the suffolk lakes. if you are willing to do saltwater there is alway rudee inlet I hear the specks are running right now.
  18. I fish inshore in the Hampton roads area and use my bass stuff. Curado K, tat. Sv etc and my rods go from 6'6 to 7'4 and they work just fine. Again I'm not trolling though. So you should be fine.
  19. Awesome fish that sounds like the lakes I fish in suffolk
  20. Let us know what you think of the side imaging from a kayak I'm wanting to get something with si for my yak
  21. Please let us know how you like the new one I'm very curious.
  22. I've started using the clear tubing method and putting some mend-it on the senko before sliding the tubing on. I did catch 13 on the same senko last week. Which actually surprised me before that I was get 2-3 fish using 2 crossed o-rings.
  23. Ok so I have had some time with the corzza and it's much better for the Ned. I also purchased a medium tatula ex fast it doesn't seem to balance as well as the MH tatula. Just thought I'd put that out. Thanks everyone for the help. Now I just have to figure out which fury rod I want for frogs. It seems like it never ends. Lol
  24. I just discussed this same thing. I was looking for another bfs rod because the carbonlite just wasn't right. I ordered the major craft corzza and it is much better for my purposes. Mainly Ned rig. If you really want to try the carbonlite we can work something out I have the 6'6" ml. 2.0 it's been out on the water 3 times. The corzza was on sale for 145 shipped
  25. The corzza was delivered today I can definitely see a difference with the taper vs the carbonlite. The balance is a lot better too. I also ordered the med. Tatula that should be here this week. hopefully it's as nice as the MH tatula That I already have. I will report back after this weekend thanks for all the suggestions.
