I'm looking for rod recommendations for throwing shallow/ medium/square bill/jerkbait and lipless crankbaits. The heaviest crankbait will be around a KVD 2.5 squarebill. I've been eying up the Dobyns Champion CB rods. What do you guys/gals prefer? Thanks for your opinions, Billy

I just received notification that my DX 703SF replacement shipped. I can't say enough great things about Dobyns customer service. I'm getting ready to order a DC 735C and a 705CB. What a great company! Billy

Haha yeah that's the goal. The reservoirs where I fish can be tough fishing from the bank not to mention they are covered with poison sumac. The shorelines are cover with trees so every now and then I make a cast and grab a tree and end up in bird nest hell. I'm getting a Radar 135 in the fall so I'm really looking forward to getting it out on the reservoirs in my area.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I like mine with 2 on 2 off with the side brake from 2-6 and a lose spool. I'd rather have my thumb do the work. I'm currently using 12# Sniper but may go up to 14 or 16#. It took me a while to get used to the SVS system but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Thanks, BillyJust for clarification the guy on this forum that I bought it from said that it had a full warranty, it had the tags and plastic still on it and had never been fished. I took his word for it as I would never have bought a rod that expensive without a warranty,I spoke with Dobyns and they will honor a full warranty even though I'm not the original owner as long as they determine that's it's a factory defect. If not I will have to pay a replacement fee. I honestly can't ask for more than that.I sure hope I don't have to pay since I didn't do anything wrong.I uderstand that but I honestly have done nothing but baby that rod since getting it a few weeks ago. I was looking forward to taking it to Harpers Ferry this week for some Potomac smallmouth fishing. I'm sure it will get resolved in the near future. Anglers Express is a local Dobyns dealer and after I hear back from Dobyns I'll take it there for them to handle.I haven't struck it on a boat, stepped on it or had a lure fly back and smack it. It may have just been a defect. It's great rod and hopefully I can get it back on the water soon.I was throwing a 1/8 ounce lure when my 703SF snapped in half. There was a moment of silence before the #@&$%#@! came outta my mouth. I have no idea why it snapped but I'm confident that Dobyns will take care of me.

I recently purchased a Chronarch MGL HG and a Kistler KLX 7'0" MH for a Carolina rig/T-rig. The Dobyns will be here Wednesday so hopefully I can get it out on the water that night. I'll give the 14lb braid a go.I have a Dobyn Extreme 703SF and a Ballistic 2500 on the way and need line suggestions. This will be my senko/tube setup and I'm fishing clearer water. I'm leaning towards braid to mono/fluro but wanted to get some opinions. If I go with braid what test and brand do you recommend? Thanks, Billy
