What will the next improvements for Trolling Motors be?
I have owned the new Minn Kota Ultrex for 6 months now. sits on a fortrex mount, runs like cable steer and has all of the advanced functions like spotlock and auto pilot. I will never go back to a straight cable steer. it was expensive, between $2100.00 and $2500.00. depending on what options you want. I debated between the fortrex and power poles or just buying the Ultrex. glad I chose the ultrex it works great. I like being able to control it with a normal foot control, but being able to drive from anywhere in the boat with the remote. You can go back and forth between the two instantaneously.

What adjustments do you make to catch bigger Bass?
this time of year, if I am catching small fish, my first move is to fish a little deeper. the 4 fish in my profile picture are a classic example. I was catching a lot of small fish in 5-10 foot on weedy main lake points, with a 1/8 ounce Shakyhead. i moved out to 20 foot on the same points and caught these, with the same bait but on a 1/4 ounce head. hope this helps.

Right vs. Left hand retrieve ??
I am Left handed, but can not use a left handed reel. it feels backwards to me. cast with left hand andcrank with right hand. only drawback to this is when fishing soft plastics and jigs on baitcasters, I always re position left hand so I can feel the line with my left index finger. while still cranking with right hand. been doing this for 30 years. never really thought about it, until a fishing friend noticed what I was doing and questioned it.
