Need a better flourocarbon option....
In your price range sunline assassin is a manageable fluorocarbon.

Strike King KVD Jerkbaits
The kvd work when the bass are feeding. If the bass are finicky it is hard to beat the vision 110.

Echomap 73 CV Plus - Waypoint Marking
No experience with Garmin. Accuracy that averages 15 meters is unacceptable. I would be replacing them. You don't need a $10000.00 unit to get accuracy. My hummingbird helix units are usually within 3 meters. If I mark a brushpile I can go right to it with my units. I can sit on a brushpile using GPS and sonar will show it directly under me. Most reservoirs I fish have lots of brushpiles. I can't remember the last time I used a marker buoy.

Mustad Acquires LIVETARGET Lures
Maybe mustad can improve live targets baits. Besides the frog, all of the other baits I have tried from them were gimmicks. Designed to catch fishermen. Not so good at catching fish.

Biggest Western Bass
My scale must be off also. The bass in my avatar was 7lb. 12oz. According to my scale. Maybe it was actually a double digit fish.

Right choice???
The pro qualifier 2 is a cheaply built reel. A lot different than the old pro qualifiers. I think you made a good choice.

looking for a Daiwa rod
I had a medium action premier for a short time. Basically an overpriced mojo. sensitivity was dead for a rod in that price range. Replaced it with a st Croix victory. Much better rod for just a little more cost.

2022 Tracker 175 TXW thoughts
From my own experience if you settle for a smaller outboard, you will always regret it. My last boat was rated for 75, but to save money I put a 50 on it. Always wished it had a bigger motor. My current boat is rated for a 115. It has a 115 hp pro xs. Never regretted it.

Fish ID
They are not a bony fish. Meat is white. I have tried them. It was ok. Relatively mild. My neighbor blackens them like redfish. He loves them. For their size ther is not a lot of meat. Mainly on the back.

Fish ID
They are native. I don't know of any rules stating you are supposed to kill them. I would think killing and not using them would be considered wanton waste.

Fish ID
The heart breaker freshwater drum. Had many a time I thought a big bass was on , when one of those slimy critters surfaced. I have caught them up to 12 pounds here in Kansas. They are very aggressive and will hit nearly any moving bait. Some people around here eat them.

I feel so un-smart when I speak with an electrician.
I did not mind people watching. If they did not get in the way. Most of my job was electrical work in Robotics . 480 volt 3 phase down to 24 volt control wiring. Often times machine operators were watching as I was troubleshooting their machines. There were a lot of interesting questions over the years.

Tracker Pro 175 TXW Transducer Placement
In the past transducers were usually mounted on the starboard. (right side if standing behind boat looking forward.) This puts the transducer on the downstroke side of the outboard. This was to minimize turbulence on the transducer from the motor. In all honesty I don't know if it makes much difference. I have not noticed any turbulence when running the boat in reverse, which would put the transducer on the upstroke of the outboard.

I feel so un-smart when I speak with an electrician.
I started out as an electrician, Then went back to school to become an electrical engineer. this thread has a lot of misinformation on electricity. I have been shocked a few times in my career. Can't recall any of them being enjoyable or on purpose. here are a few considerations when working with electricity. 1: 200 milliamps passing through your body is enough to stop your heart. 2: Any voltage can be dangerous, but in general 30 volts is considered the threshold to break the resistance of your skin and be deadly. 3: A 15 amp circuit is just as deadly as a 20 or 30 amp circuit. they all carry the same current up to the point the breaker trips. if you trip a 15 amp breaker at 120 volts from electricity passing through your body, chances are damage is already done. (It only takes 200 milliamp to stop your heart). 4: Electricity will follow the path of least resistance. While yes touching a neutral wire with your thumb and a hot wire with your finger will not kill you. Touching anything grounded with any other part of your body can be lethal...... I don't know of any electrician that would purposely do this on a regular basis. Unfortunately I have seen a few bad electrical accidents in my lifetime. Almost all were from carelessness or lack of understanding. don't be a statistic. If , you are unsure get help from someone who understands electrical theory. As a last note. be careful around 36 volt trolling motor circuits. 30 volts is enough to break the resistance of your skin.

Zoom fluke vs super fluke?
They are different baits. Only time I use a fluke is finesse fishing like a drop shot or weightless nose hooking. Also as a chatterbait trailer. I use the super fluke a lot. It is the better option if you are fishing it weedless with an offset or ewg hook. Not sure where you are buying them, but bass pro usually has the super fluke for around $2.50 in the store. Not sure about online.

Jig Rod Approx. 250$ budget
My favorite Victory is the Marshall. Nice soft tip that quickly loads into a solid backbone. I use it mainly for worms and creature baits, but it will easily handle a 1/2 ounce jig.

Jig Rod Approx. 250$ budget
The foam is not very thick. the rod is plenty sensitive for a sub $200.00 rod. The sensitivity is comparable to my Megabass Levante rods. The Victory is more comfortable to hold onto. When I palm a reel my ring finger sits in the exposed blank area. The Exposed blank of the Levante will rub my finger raw in a day of fishing. this does not happen with the Victory. I don't own a high end Dobyns, so I cant do a fair comparison. There is no comparison between the victory and my Dobyns fury rods. the fury is tip heavy and not near as sensitive.

Jig Rod Approx. 250$ budget
Mine are sensitive. Don't think a cork would make it any better

Jig Rod Approx. 250$ budget
I have a couple avid x and victory rods. In my opinion the victory rods are better balanced and more sensitive. Plus they cost less than the avid x.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I was at Smithville 3 weeks ago. Caught a few in the 1.5 to 2 pound range. It was pretty slow. Didn't catch anything in the trees. All were caught on main lake points. From personal experience, I would avoid the main lake on labor day weekend. Boat traffic gets crazy on holiday weekends.

Knot very happy
Trilene raves about their knot. Personally I am not a fan. It is easy to burn the line when clinching down. Nearly any knot will work but they have to be tied correctly. One thing to remember is Lubing the line when cinching down is necessary with nearly any knot. Also test the knot before casting. Everybody occasionally makes a bad knot Give it a couple tugs. If it doesn't break you are good to go. If it breaks just tie again. I very seldom ever have a failed knot. Here are my favorite knots. They are all easy to tie with a little practice. For braid to mono or fluoro leader, I use the Alberto knot. Easy to tie and strong if tied correctly. For straight braid I use a Palomar knot. For straight fluoro I use a double pitzen knot. I actually also use this knot on straight mono most of the time. For straight mono it is usually a Palomar knot

Can somebody tell me what this thing is ?
Looks like an old quick release quiver mount
