Shimano reel sizes
I'm thinking this is kind of self explanatory, but just to make sure... The lower the number = the smaller the size of the reel (for the most part)? How are reel sizes calculated? Is it something like the size of the spool or line capacity?

New curado handle/spool issue
Like others have chimed in, it definitely sounds like something is up with your drag. Did you remove the handle for any reason?

Need good fishing gloves
I use glacier gloves as well. They are not waterproof, but they dry reasonably fast. I wouldn't use these for cold weather applications though.

Which spinner blade configuration?
Thanks everyone for the responses. They've all been helpful. I think I'm going to go with a 1/2oz nickel war eagle in mouse color with a front gold Colorado and a rear nickel Indiana blade. I'm also thinking about picking up some nickel Picasso thunder Willow blades to try in place of the Indiana. Does anyone have experience with the spinner and the blades?

What are a few must have lures for bass...
When I was first starting out I asked that same question. Sometimes you'll find something that relates to the lake you fish and the gear that you have, but from my personal experience, you're wasting your time and money asking that question. You need to tell us your equipment, namely your rod/rods power and action. That and describe the conditions of the lake you fish. Water clarity and layout. Where have you had success fishing and how were you fishing it... Etc.

Storage box for kayak
The plano waterproof 3600's are great. Even loaded with all my terminal tackle (it's gotta be 5lbs worth) it still floats.

Which spinner blade configuration?
Hello, I've been going to a new lake. The lake seems to have a good number of shad to forage. The water is stained. Some areas have better visibility, up to 3 feet, but for the most part visibility stops at 1ft. The lake, for large part, is shallow and weedy. The weeds are especially heavy in areas under 6ft in depth. I would like to find a spinner bait (and this might require 2 different baits) to imitate the shad. It would need it to be able to burned over the heavily weeded areas (I'm guessing 1-2' depth where the weeds permit) and/or be able to fish the edge of the weeds... I'm guessing 6-10ft depth. I was thinking a dual Indiana or Indiana/Colorado spinner might work best for this, but I wanted to hear what you all would think. Also, I had another question... Would solid chartreuse be best for stained water or is chartreuse and white more easily seen?

Rod line rating vs line used
So the presentation is more negatively affected by the diameter and rigidity of the flourocarbon than it is affected by the opaqueness of the braid?

Rod line rating vs line used
The rod is only rated for 25#. What's the sense in putting 65# braid on it when you could run 25# flouro on it (equal to your rod) instead? I get it that you could squeeze more out of braid. I'm looking for more than that

Rod line rating vs line used
Hello, first post here. I've been looking at rods for fishing cover. The rod I'm looking at is rated for a max of 25# test. I know a lot of you will run straight 50 or 65lb braid on a set up meant for fishing cover. My question is, is there an advantage to fishing this line if the rod is the weakest link and rated for much less? Wouldn't it make more sense to fish that same main line with a flourocarbon leader that matches the rods rating rather that risk damaging the rod while also not compromising the stealth of your presentation? I'm not trying to be confrontational, I'm just trying to understand the mechanics involved.
