  1. I have a top water lure that I've had for a number of years. It is a walking the dog type lure (Dalton Special). I don't know if that is a company or just the name of the lure. It has developed 3 cracks in the finish starting at the rear treble hook. It is a wooden lure so it takes on water after using for a while. I have heard you could use clear finger nail polish. If so, do you just wipe it in the cracks? The colors and the finish are both great except for this problem, so I would hate to try refinishing the whole lure. Is this doable or should I try something else? As Ever, Skillet
  2. Mike, I used the Trilene knot for a number of years and then started having problems (my fault I'm pretty sure). I then tried the Palomar and thought it was great for "most" lures. I now would have to side with RW or Jim.... As Ever, Skillet
  3. Mike, Also thanking you for this thread! I have a Shimano Symetre 2500 mounted on an older Quantum rod that is way to light and have been wondering what to go to. Raul, I thought I heard that explanation before. Thanks for bringing it back up... As Ever, Skillet
  4. Greetings Everyone, I finally bit the bullet and joined up yesterday, after lurking for so long I'd be ashamed to admit it. Before I jump into posting anything I'd like to thank Glenn for building such a great site and the mods for keeping it that way. A whole lot of thanks to all the members who have pushed knowlege and entertainment my way. I would be proud to share a boat or pond with any of you..... PS Didn't mean for this to sound like such a load of brown noseing As Ever, Skillet
