  1. Wanted to get everyone's take on the RAID Head Swimmer Libero? I'm looking to pick up a couple of different patterns (Pink Trick, White Chartreuse, Onion Gill), I saw the guy's at the Hook Up Tackle crushing smallmouth from the bank. I like that you get the total package in one clamshell with 2 jigheads & 4 swimbaits. The jighead with the v shaped weed guard looks dynamite. Just another underspin? Seems like there's a big push for higher quality underspins coming out Dirty Jigs/Tactical Bassin' and the new famous Smeltinator.
  2. You could definitely drop down to a 2/0 hook, in the 2.75"-3" swimbait size you could get away with 1/0 hook which gives the tail way more action. I've got a couple different options in my terminal box: 1/0 DJ Guppy head 1/0 Z-Man Finesse Eyez Minnow Style Jig Head 2/0 Z-Man Chatterbait Willowvibe
  3. Magdraft, Cull Shad or Daingerous.. whatever catches your next PB, I love Megabass, especially they're unique baits but I just want to get what catch fishes. I get the copycat sentiment from some, I don't mind that Berkley knocks off quality baits because I can walk into any tackle shop and find 90% of Berkley's line on the shelf. I can't say the same for MB or BM. Really looking forward to heavy drop shottting with the Gilly this spring.
  4. My home lake has an insane amount of boat/jet ski traffic in the summer and I'll only use the boat launch at off peak times otherwise I'm using a beach or gravel road. There's no way in hell I'm dragging my $4K kayak anywhere especially with a transducer hangin off the bottom. I wish I was spoiled with the level and quality of your boat launches. I'm not crazy about walking back-n-forth to my car with my Wildy cart, let alone the Dynamic Dolly which requires your to break it down to get it in a car or truck. In a tournament setting with like minded folks, I'll walk the cart back to my car but on a 2-4 hour voyage, I'd be too worried leaving my precious gear on a beach with onlookers. Last weekend, I rigged up two Scotty bases with fender rings, see below, at the back of my kayak, so I can strap my Wildy cart behind my crate for those shorter trips.
  5. I think this is definitely a "nice to have" but isn't a major departure or upgrade over a kayak/portage cart. I'm an avid Greg follower, he uses it in conjunction with the Boonedox cart and I think it's convenient because of the nature of the launches he uses. I end up using a decent amount of dodgy launches, gravel, beaches/sand and the odd concrete traditional boat launch. I could definitely use a set of beach wheels for the Wildy cart cause the standard wheels dig in on sand or loose gravel pretty badly.
  6. I really like the set up and will be following along to see how the 360 imaging works out on your rig. I just discovered this company and they have an arm like your, link below, some others looking at adding livescope to their rigs might appreciate it. https://borika.ca/products/directional-mount-for-garmin-panoptix-livescope I went with a Scotty Fish Finder mount for my 9" Garmin unit, I was worried the YakAttack would be too wobbly but perhaps removing an extension arm might eliminate some play. Those RAM mounts do come with a hefty price tag. Love the rig!
  7. @Koz @Bankc I think it might be worth discussing, are you predominantly sitting or standing when you fish?
  8. I ran through those Biospawns a few years back on a DJ California swimjig, I moved away from them cause they were hard for me to get locally.
  9. I've got my Garmin 9" mounted on the vacant rudder control spot for my Wildy Recon 120 HD. I picked up a YakHobby X-Puck and mounted a Scotty Fishfinder mount to it, so it's very close and off to my left, steering on the right. Still need to figure out the ideal set up when I get on the water. If I paddled, it would absolutely be in the way but there's no option for rail mounting with the pedal drive up front.
  10. Probably the Trokar Magnum Weighted Swimbait Hook - I've got a couple of 3/8oz hooks for deep water.
  11. Seems like they tried to ride the hype behind the Sleeper Gill, I think a jig/trailer combo takes the cake here. The pattern variety is shocking at launch.
  12. I had a 703 paired up with a 2500 Sedona for a few seasons and part ways with it because I couldn't stand the reel seat. I used it for every finesse application under 1/4oz, it's got decent sensitivity and I miss the ease of skipping baits with it. I will not buy a spinning rod that doesn't feature the FUJI VSS TS Reel Seat.
  13. $10 Canadian = $7 USD. The Locos look good too, but can't find them locally.
  14. Although I should be acquiring deep diving cranks, some how I ended up with a few Whipper Snapper 110s in my hands. At $10 a pop, I couldn’t pass fleshing out some deeper diving jerkbaits to the arsenal.
  15. Trying ordering a rod from Amazon, 2 of 3 in rod tubes and 1 in 2 boxes made to fit a rod, I was surprised it made the journey with the guides intact.
  16. It looks like a nice mod, I think I'll do something similar. I'm looking to run the same amount of rod holders too, if you can fit 8, you bring 8.
  17. I'm looking to get one of these next week, I think the desert sand would look great with my chartreuse kayak but so does black. I’m curious what’s the purpose of padeye tether/handle?
  18. Scooped a 8lb & 12lb spool of Daiwa Samurai J-Fluoro on sale at Cabela's, couldn't turn a 40% off deal down. 12lb went on my cranking and spinnerbait/dark sleeper rod and the 8lb will be going on a 7' 3" MF bottom-contact spinning rig. Bummer there was no 16lb in stock for my jig rod.
  19. I've been following these 13 Fishing baits and gear, decided to take the plunge on the Jabber Jaw squarebill. Paint looks fantastic and the loose bill looks like it should have a loud fleeting action. Grabbed a couple of staples patterns to flesh out the arsenal. Lots of good reviews on the Scotty Fish Finder Mount and was about half the price of the similar sized RAM mount. Just deciding on a battery, transducer mount and need to pick through-hull wiring kit.
  20. Finally got my TW order after a week and a half delay on the Trapper Hooker back order. I took full advantage of the buy more for less deal deal and absolutely reloaded on trebles, dropshop, and EWG hooks. Size 6 - Trapper Tackle EWG Short Shank Treble Hooks 8pkQty: 5 1/0, 2/0 & 3/0 - Trapper Offset Wide Gap Hooks 6pkQty: 5 Size 4, 5 & 6 - Trapper Round Bend Treble Hooks 4 8pkQty: 5 1 & 2 - Trapper Drop Shot Hooks 1 6pkQty: 5 Lugging around 10 rods should be a lot easier with the Cal Coast Fishing Rod Mule Rod Carrying System. The rest of these items should come in handy when tournament season kicks off in May, especially the Dobyns Football Jigs (Magic Craw & Midnight Purple), I can't get over the quality of these jigs, hand tied, 4 barb keeper and living rubber skirt.
