  1. Best bites will be on senkos, fineness 3/16 to 1/4 ounce jigs natural color squarebills. Lots of spotted bass decent place to fish the coves near the dam are good places to start.
  2. Good choice brotha I'm sure it will get the job done I have a 6'8 mh ghost for jig and worms and the blanks are phenomenal!
  3. Yes you can get a medium action rod in its place. I recommend for you to return the mh you have and get a medium it will work for cranking.
  4. I'm sorry for your pain and heartache, my mother battled cancer and is in remission, I myself struggle with liver disease. Just remember this is all temporary soon these things will be no more.
  5. If your going to be throwing light baits get a shimano I am also very fond of the st croix mojos.
  6. Shimano casitas most definitely! I'm proud to own one I also have the old shimano canaen that is also a great beginner reel.
  7. Not necessarily , It really depends on the rod I have a mhm rod that works fine for top water.
  8. You know what I just kinda counted all my baits and I'm way off I'm more like 220ish lol hey but I'm getting up there you don't build a hard bait collection overnight !
  9. Wow 800 that's a lot but I'm catching up man I got about half that!
  10. Go with the opposite of what you want to buy see if that works .
  11. This is kinda what I'm talking about, this is a rick clunn squarebill not the most expensive bait but the hooks are usually pretty decent this one here looks like one shank is longer than the others.
  12. It happens even with a good company that gives you nice black nickel plated hooks you might get a defect on a hook like a bend or a treble with one hook longer than another I figure the baits are mass produced so they probably have boxes and stacks of trebles being put on each bait There's bound to be a defect here and there.

Assuming you live in an area where you don't have to drill a hole threw some ice to fish. What are your guys favorite winter baits? I like senkos jigs and shad raps.
  15. Write and McGill Blair Wiggins Mogan combo 100 bucks at dicks sporting goods.
  16. P line cx premium is the best floro coated copoly in my opinion. I don't like pline floroclear.
  17. I don't think a heavy would be ideal for 3/8 ounce jigs those rods are pretty stout. I think maybe you should invest the extra 20 bucks and get a 100$ rod you would be surprised how significant of a difference you get with some of theses new 100$ rods. (Edit) I have to add However if you have your sights set on a Powell deisel you should go on and get one their are many anglers that are very fond of the Powell deisel series. I had a mf 7 and it felt like a mhf so keep that in mind. These rods are still coveted amongst many bass fisherman. Keep us posted!
  18. Good rods very strong, reliable, sensitive and a good paint job if that matters to you? It does for me. A little bit tip heavy. But a broom stick of a back bone, I think they are very good rods.
  19. Does anyone really use pork anymore? I always hear ppl say jig and pig but I really feel that is a thing of the past the soft plastic chunk trailers packed with scent and salt are just as good. I know I got off the topic at hand sorry brothas that's just my two cents? I just don't know anyone who uses pork anymore.
  20. I have the 7 mhmf spinner bait mojo bass and I love it, great rods make sure you get the new ones scIII graphite. I throw most of my treble hook baits and of course chatter baits and spinner baits. They are extremely light rods I plan on getting another I want the wacky spinning set up.
  21. I've been holding off on this reel got it last week. Picked up the jigs today.
  22. i don't really use a spinning rod much for treble hook baits, I have thrown around a shad rap on it however and it has a good bend in the tip the rod is certainly not a stiff rod I don't think you'll have a problem throwing squarebills and jerkbaits at all.
  23. I have a blackout 7 medium spinning rod and it does the job great it's very light and sensitive I highly recommend for that price point.
  24. I'll call them, I'll keep you guys posted I should have got em when they were hot! Thanks brothers.
  25. Does anyone know if st croix still has the rage rods on clearance if so could you post the link. It's not on the website?
