Daiwa Ardito Casting travel rod 7’ M/F ?
I would go with medium-heavy because it’s super versatile and if you get a 3/8 oz jig with a large trailer that will get very heavy for a medium rod. Medium-heavy is my go to rod for bank fishing. The MH/F will cover 1/4-1 oz lures which is a perfect all around rod. You can throw anything from senkos to frogs on it.

Black Friday Reel Sale 2018
Has anyone found any good online reel sales? I just got nice rod for 50% off at Fleet Farm and need a reel to pair with it.

Carbonlite 2.0 or falcon bucoo?
I am not a huge fan of the Carbonlites. I would honestly spend a little bit more for a Dobyns Fury at $120. You will not regret it.

Fly Combo under $150
I would like to start trout and smallmouth fishing with a fly rod. I am not sure what weight rod I should buy so I can fish both smallies and trout. I would like the best quality possible under $150. Would like to keep it around $100 but I am willing to spend up to $150. It can be a combo or an individual rod and reel. If anyone can help me with this that would be great. I don’t know if this the right forum for this subject if not please move it. Thank You

Telescopic Rods
I am no rod expert but I have had a bit of experience with telescoping rods. My friend had one and I decided to try using his. I instantly didn’t like it. The guides wouldn’t stay straight, it wasn’t super sensitive, and it wasn’t balanced at all. It might not be a problem depending on the brand. I would recommend going for a three piece rod. I have heard good things about the Fenwick Travel Rod. I am pretty sure St Croix and other brands have them as well.

Phenix M1, Recon Elite, and Feather
I don’t see a lot of talk about Phenix rods. Whenever I do see reviews on them they seem to be pretty good. I have been interested in The Recon Elite, Feather, and M1. If anyone has had any experience with these rods please comment. How do they compare to a Megabass Levante and Shimano Zodias? Also how does Phenix’s warranty work? Thank you

Rod or reel more important for frog setup.
I guess I will be the first to suggest the Dobyns Fury. I use the 704 for frogging and I feel it has enough backbone for all the fish I catch but most people would prefer the 735. Although I do not do any flipping with this rod so that might make a difference. I have mine paired with a Lews Tournament MB which is a little out of your price range but is a great reel. However I have heard great things about the Diawa Tatula CT and they can be found for under 100 dollars easily.
- Which Lew's beginner baitcaster?

Dobyns Fury 663C
When I bank fish i prefer to bring only one rod. A Dobyns Fury 703c is my go to all around rod. I throw some KVD 1.5 squarebills on the rod and it works fine. The 663c should treat you well.

What is your go-to most versatile line?
I always used 10 or 15 pound PowerPro on my spinning reels as that was what my dad used. When I got my first baitcaster I tried a Mono and really didn’t like it that much. May have been because it was a cheaper kind. After that I switched to a 40# PowerPro and use it for everything. Only been broken off twice both times it was a northern pike.?

Dobyns Rods
I have a Dobyns Fury 703c and I love it. When’s I am not fishing with my dad on his boat, I am doing a lot of bank fishing. I normally take only one rod with me and that is the Dobyns Fury 703. It is an all around great rod. I use it for anything from senkos to frogs. (Where I live bass don’t get bigger than 4 or 5 pounds) I have never had a problem feeling the bottom as it’s super sensitive. I am definitely not an expert though.

$120~ Frog Rod help
I have used both the Mojo and Dobyns Fury. I love the Fury. Can’t say enough of good things about it.

Baitcasting setup
Dobyns Fury is a great choice for a rod. If you wait till the 4th of July sale at Tackle Warehouse you could get up to a $180 reel to pair with it and after the 15% off you would still be under $250.

New Rod/Reel Advice
If you have one lure that you always like to have ready to throw then get a dedicated rod for that. For the kind I would definitely recommend a Dobyns Fury. It’s an amazing rod that can be found on tackle warehouses 4th of July sale for around $90.
