  1. So Here’s a list of my current rods: 6’6 medium power fast action casting rod paired with a 6.6:1 gr reel. 7 ft mh fast casting with a 6.3:1 reel. 6’6 ml spinning rod. Looking to add some more to the arsenal. What should I buy next?
  2. Yah I forgot to add that. I usually use a leader with braid unless froggin.
  3. I have a 6’6 med fast casting rod I’m planning to use for poppers and small walking baits and the like. I have a whole spool of new 20lb powerpro so I was wondering if that would suffice or should I go heavier. It will only be for small top waters and maybe weightless plastics.
  4. Easy. Aird x for sure. Lighter, better looking and more sensitive. And academy sports sells them for $39.99. I will say the shock has more comfortable grips but the airds are not that bad. And if u wrap them in Winn grips overwrap they are great. I love mine for kayak and canoe fishing.
  5. No budget really. I have several reels in the $100-150 range. It’s just that a lot of the areas I fish are difficult to get to and my equipment gets banged up going through brush and stuff to get there. I’m just trying to set up a beater combo that will get the job done and I won’t be worried about banging it up and dropping it etc. I can get both under $60 that’s why I chose between the two.
  6. Constantly lol. I’ve been getting a new rod and/or reel every 2 weeks since February. I’m trying to build up a decent arsenal come summer.
  7. Either a jerkbait or t-rig senko in watermelon red.
  8. Looking at getting one or the other to pair with a 7ft medium heavy rod to use for spinnerbaits and maybe some jigs. Which would you say is better and why?
  9. I was using 6 pound test already so I’m not sure I’ll go lighter than that. I might try wearing camo on my next trip there?
  10. I’m in sc. mid size creek. I’d say average depth in the creek where I fish is 1 to 3 ft. Pretty clear water. 3-4 ft visibility.
  11. So there’s a creek near my house that I’ve gone to 2 times now. It’s not real big but there’s bass in it. Ive seen lots of bass in the 1-2 pound range but none bigger than that. The problem is it’s really pressured and I can’t get them to bite anything. Senkos, grubs, small jerks and cranks,in-line spinners-I’ve thrown like everything I can think of at them but nothing-no response they just swim away. Is there anything I can do to get them to bite?
  12. Daiwa aird x. IMO it’s the best rod for $50. All around use? Get the 7ft mh.
  13. We r in the same boat here. I’m also fishing a pond tmrw. Hopefully tmrw is my first fish of the year. Really enjoying this weather. My plans r jerkbait, finesse worm, lipless.
  14. Instead of the pfeugler trion take a look at the Daiwa revros. Decent bit smoother and solid built reel.st croix bass x in 6-10 ml would be a good choice rod to match with it.
