  1. I’ve downsized to a lucky craft pointer 78 (~3”) and caught a few extra fish when the bite has been tough. I think they make an even smaller one as well.
  2. How does the dobyns 736cb stack up against the 706cb. I know one is glass/composite and the other is purely graphite, but are the actions completely different? Looking for something to throw large topwaters and deep cranks on, maybe chatterbaits too. I’m not sure what to expect from a 6 power cranking rod!
  3. I just bought a dobyns fury 795 swimbait rod as a “budget” option for A-Rigs and hard swimbaits and have been pleasantly surprised with it so far. It is rated for 1-5 oz baits.
  4. Thanks for all the great advice. I’m still intrigued about the dobyns 736cb Glass rod as it has great reviews online. Has anyone used it for ploppers? I like the fact that it can also throw Chatterbaits, large spinnerbaits, and deep cranks if needed.
  5. Looking for suggestions on your favorite rod for throwing whopper ploppers, specifically the 110 (95% of the time) and 130 sizes. I’d like something with more of a parabolic bend. Would a dobyns 705cb be able to handle the 110? Or would you rather opt for the 736cb or a different brand altogether?
  6. How do you guys retrieve the s-waiver 168s? I bought one but it sinks very, very slowly (using 20lb CXX). Do you guys fish it up near the surface or wait for it to sink deeper?
  7. I recently started experimenting with big swimbaits last season and I’ve had decent success on a 6” Bull Shad by Mike Bucca. I throw it on a 7’9 MH (1-5oz) Dobyns Fury swimbait rod. At $120 it doesn’t break the bank and it’s been more than enough for my purposes. Can’t speak much for other baits... yet!
  8. Hey guys, long time lurker here and finally decided to make an account! I recently came across several brand new G. Loomis Mossyback rods for about 50% off at a local tackle shop. I bought two flipping sticks for $160 a piece and two jig n worm rods for $140 a piece. Seemed like a deal that I couldn't pass up and an upgrade from some of the rods I'm currently using (e6x, dobyns fury, etc.). Does anyone have experience with these rods? Was this as good a deal as I thought?
