  1. Reel moving relative to seat. The seat is not moving relative to rod. Feels like the reel seat is defective. Sure I can wrap some tape around it but I shouldn’t have to do that on a $300 rod imo... guess I’ll send it in and see what happens.
  2. I purchased a brand new G Loomis mossyback rod back around December during a closeout sale. Since fishing with it, I’ve noticed when I’m fighting a fish (or really whenever I put stress on the rod) the reel doesn’t feel secure in the reel seat. I wouldn’t say that it’s visibly moving inside the reel seat, but you can definitely feel a noticeable shifting/wiggling movement. I’ve tried a curado 200i, curado 70, and cbronarch mgl on this rod and it does it with each of them. Anyone else have this problem before? Should I send the rod back for warranty?
  3. 15lb power pro original
  4. I just bought some of this line based on WRB’s recommendation and must say I’m really impressed with it. Very low stretch (best I’ve found besides braid) and very manageable.
  5. That’s asking a lot for one rod, but I’d probably opt for braid in the 40lb range.
  6. Anybody still throwing floating jerkbaits like the Rapala original floater and if so, under what conditions?
  7. Alabama rig
  8. Seaguar red label ~$10 from Walmart. Use it for baitcasters 12-20lb with zero issues. Can’t soeak for spinning reels though.
  9. Dobyns fury is a solid choice at $120. They have two models, a lighter and heavier model.
  10. If you specifically want a glass rod, I’d look into the Dobyns champion lineup. Best cranking lineup on the market in my opinion. Great characteristic parabolic bend of traditional glass rods without sacrificing weight and thickness of the rod. Honestly, held side by side there’s not much of a difference between their glass lineup and their graphite lineup. For what it’s worth, I own the 705cb glass and it covers all of my cranking needs (squarebills, traps, anything less than 10’ deep). There are several other models as well if you want a different length or power.
  11. Another vote for the Pfleuger president. Best spinning reel for the money imo at around $50. The trion mentioned above is also a solid option and is about $20 cheaper than the President. Both are pretty comparable.
  12. Hey guys, I recall reading about the sunline shooter defier armilo line on this forum and guys seem to love it. Which applications are you using it for? Which lb test? Is it good for topwater and cranking? Is it considered a mono or copoly and does it float/sink? Thanks in advance!
  13. Looking into buying a new rod to throw smaller topwater baits like poppers during the summer and jerkbaits during the colder months. What’s the difference between the 704cb graphite and 704cb Glass besides the material? Which techniques are better on each rod? Thabks in advance!
  14. The stock hooks on the Mb 110s are terrible for a $25 imo. I swap them out regardless. I’ve just been using gamakatsu round bend #6 but I would like to try the g finesse hooks mentioned above.
  15. I own two of the 736cb glass rods. One of them always has a Chatterbait tied on and the other I use for whopper plopper 110s and 130s. I can’t say it enough, phenomenal rod for both techniques - and you can also throw spinnerbaits and deeper diving crankbaits on it as well.
  16. Dobyns champion xp 736cb Glass hands down my favorite rod for chatterbaits. It’s a bit outside your price range, but if you check the dobyns website, you may be able to snag a factory mislabeled rod for $170 including shipping.
  17. Thanks guys. I love the 70 reels, but both the handle and knobs feel so small in my hands. Looks like I’ll go with either the citica handle or metanium handle.
  18. I have 3 curado 70 reels that I’d like to swap on the handle for a larger one (big hands and it feels somewhat awkward). Does anyone have any recommendations on where to find a larger handle and other compatible models that fit the curado 70? Thanks in advance!
  19. Can’t help you out with the specifics as I don’t throw 6xds much, but I really like the dobyns champion cranking rods I own and I know they have a great following on these forums.
  20. I normally throw my topwaters on a 7’ MH crankbait rod with 30lb braid. The slower action of the rod allows me to keep fish pinned even with braid. I think you could also get away with braid for your set up, as long as your rod has some tip and not too stiff.
  21. I throw the WP 110 on a dobyns 736 cb Glass with 40lb braid. Wonderful rod for this bait. I tie the braid straight to the bait with a palomar knot and have not experienced any line twist issues. For me, the less extra knots/swivels, the better. Hope this helps!

Lebron is hands down the most complete player to ever step foot on a basketball court plain and simple. He can score, pass, rebound, and defend 1-5 at as high a level as anyone (when he chooses to). Not to mention the man is 33 years old and having the best season of his career. He somehow defies age and continues to get better while we’re all scratching our heads. I’ll still give the scoring nod to Jordan, but you can put Lebron on the worst team in the league and that team instantly becomes a playoff threat. The proof? Lebron singlehandedly carried the worst playoff roster ever to the finals in 2007 at the age of 22. Unless you’re a Cavs fan, I bet you can’t name one person on that roster. Jordan never made it to the finals until he got pippen, Rodman, Kerr, etc.

Looks like a Rick Clunn stx or similar knock off of the megabass vision 110
  24. Looking for a new reel to put on my flipping stick. Which one gets the nod and why? Metanium mgl, chrnoarch mgl, or bantam mgl?
