  1. What I can say is I have a Phenix X series and do like using it very much. Don't see many here talking bout them much, I believe. But maybe someone else can chime in on Phenix composite rods for the technique your asking about. Good luck. Also, just to say my overall bass rods are from Dobyns and love using them just as much...
  2. Lower Fox River from S. Elgin and on. Not seen any smallies in feeder creeks but have heard of them being there when high waters are present. Wading is awesome with good population of smallies.
  3. Looking to see which one would would best fit my new Dobyns DX745. Will be used for jigs in 1/2 - 3/4oz jigs and Carolina rigs. Do have Chonarch 150MGL and Curado I 7.1:1 though. Maybe can switch things around. But won't hesitate to buying another new or used. What's the thought.
  4. Thanks for the feedback Fisher dudes. Seems like I'll switch things around and go for the 736 instead of my first two I was looking at. Was actually thinking 736 may of been heavier than I was needing. From what I gather it can whip just about anything. Greatly appreciated. Fish On......
  5. Any feedback on your experience and or thoughts on said rod. Looking at possibly getting a 7'3 to 7'6" rod. Do have a Phenix X10 and just trying to have a full fiberglass. Mid to deep depths.

  8. X3 on keitech. Have had great results with walleyes and smallies. Jig head with slow steady retrieve. Only bad thing is the get beat up quickly.
  9. Want to say thanks to all of you. Maybe a custom handle isn't that bad of an idea. Reel is in excellent condition and if it wasn't for the rodents getting to the handle it would be a great deal going. How's a wind swept handle sound. Any worries with it being able to work? Thanks again. Also, would want someone to make it close to being like reel color. Would above makers be able to do this?
  10. Wondering if anyone out there have info on how I can find handle for a Chronarch CH100B. Can't seem to have any luck with my searches. Or maybe what other handle can be used. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  11. Gamagatsu #1&2 Drop shot / Split Shot hooks. Pointy sharp and sticks 'em well.
  12. Arriving at Lk St. Clair only to met with 25+ winds with gusts up to 45, scattered rain and temp drop. Sure was a wet and bumpy ride. Crazy
  13. I've had the pleasure of having Carl as a guide. Good guy. Recommend him as well. You may want to try John Troshen from The Pier. Has a way of catching big ones.
  14. I myself use both and catch fish on both. But honestly I tend to reach for the Rogue most often. Just seems I catch more with it. Can't go wrong with it.
  15. Shimano Crucial 6'8" Med / XF. Has a real nice feel to Iit and can handle those smallies and largies very well. Maybe you can locate one that has a clearance price. You'll have others hear that would agree. Good luck.
