Squarebill Crankbait Rod Suggestions...???
What I can say is I have a Phenix X series and do like using it very much. Don't see many here talking bout them much, I believe. But maybe someone else can chime in on Phenix composite rods for the technique your asking about. Good luck. Also, just to say my overall bass rods are from Dobyns and love using them just as much...

Northern Illinois smallie creeks
Lower Fox River from S. Elgin and on. Not seen any smallies in feeder creeks but have heard of them being there when high waters are present. Wading is awesome with good population of smallies.

Chronarch or Curado
Looking to see which one would would best fit my new Dobyns DX745. Will be used for jigs in 1/2 - 3/4oz jigs and Carolina rigs. Do have Chonarch 150MGL and Curado I 7.1:1 though. Maybe can switch things around. But won't hesitate to buying another new or used. What's the thought.

Dobyns XP CB Glass Rod
Thanks for the feedback Fisher dudes. Seems like I'll switch things around and go for the 736 instead of my first two I was looking at. Was actually thinking 736 may of been heavier than I was needing. From what I gather it can whip just about anything. Greatly appreciated. Fish On......

Dobyns XP CB Glass Rod
Any feedback on your experience and or thoughts on said rod. Looking at possibly getting a 7'3 to 7'6" rod. Do have a Phenix X10 and just trying to have a full fiberglass. Mid to deep depths.

Paddle Tail Swimbait Question
X3 on keitech. Have had great results with walleyes and smallies. Jig head with slow steady retrieve. Only bad thing is the get beat up quickly.

Chronarch Ch100B Part
Want to say thanks to all of you. Maybe a custom handle isn't that bad of an idea. Reel is in excellent condition and if it wasn't for the rodents getting to the handle it would be a great deal going. How's a wind swept handle sound. Any worries with it being able to work? Thanks again. Also, would want someone to make it close to being like reel color. Would above makers be able to do this?

Chronarch Ch100B Part
Wondering if anyone out there have info on how I can find handle for a Chronarch CH100B. Can't seem to have any luck with my searches. Or maybe what other handle can be used. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Worst Fishing Condition You Encountered?
Arriving at Lk St. Clair only to met with 25+ winds with gusts up to 45, scattered rain and temp drop. Sure was a wet and bumpy ride. Crazy

Hey Illinois Guys!
I've had the pleasure of having Carl as a guide. Good guy. Recommend him as well. You may want to try John Troshen from The Pier. Has a way of catching big ones.

Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue
I myself use both and catch fish on both. But honestly I tend to reach for the Rogue most often. Just seems I catch more with it. Can't go wrong with it.

Drop Shot Rod
Shimano Crucial 6'8" Med / XF. Has a real nice feel to Iit and can handle those smallies and largies very well. Maybe you can locate one that has a clearance price. You'll have others hear that would agree. Good luck.

Favorite Species Besides Bass
Started off with bass and walleyes by way of jigging, trolling, cranking and rigging. Just great to work them. Last few years I picked up on the Muskies and simply just enjoy it a lot. Cranking and burning hard. Not stop hard fighting fish.

Latest Set Up Combo
Well I have my newest set up for my collection. Had recently just received my Phenix X10 Crankbait Rod from TW to go with Curado I PG. Took it out for a few casts just to see how it would feel by tossing a few different lures. I'd say the combination was pleasant. Casted like a charm. Tip seemed pretty soft but when casting and reeling in the lures it seemed to have the right flex on it. Along with the Curado, it casted smoothly and was pure sweetness to me. Yes, maybe some of the sensitivity was missing but did notice vibration on tip of rod and felt lures hit bottom and bounce off rocks. Even though I was just testing her out I managed to get 3 smallies and definitely had a different feel than I had been used to in the past with graphite rods. Well, just wanted to have something to write about and overall just wanted to say so far so good. I'm happy.

Lost My Lucky Craft Pointer 100
Know the feeling. Early spring I broke out my new 17.00 dollar ghost minnow lipless rattle bait. 7th cast my braid line snaps on my cast sending my new lure to the abyss. Talk about a bummer.

Tackle Warehouse Sale
Well, went ahead and pulled the trigger myself. After having focused on getting Dobyns 705CB I did some rechecking and hard rethinking. I decided to go for a Phenix x10. Should have it in a few days. Price was overall deciding factor. All about savings right now. Hope it works out well....Good fishing to all.

Drop Shot Rods
Ended up getting a 6'8" Med XF Crucial as well just cause I happen to have the right amount of cash. Love it. Feels nice when hooking on to smallies or largies.

Walleye Rod
Generally use 6' and 6'6 ML rods. 6' for jigging, 6'6" with 3/8oz and heavier jigs also for lindy rigging. One of my favorites I have is a Lamiglas Walleye Special 6'6" great backbone with soft tip, just love it. Use the same rods for Smallmouth as well. Another thing 7' ML for split shot / slip float techniques.

Reel Recommendation For Muskie?
Cardiff 400 gets my vote for sure. It's a good start. I would say to shop around through the net. You may find a Calcutta 400B for about 150.00. That baby is smooooth and dependable. Can last a long time. Don't let the reel size scare you. Also, if you haven't caught a muskie watch out. Cause when you do you may catch the muskie fever...and will start another tackle collection. Bait monkey gets bigger.

Favorite Night Fishing Lures And Techniques
Fishing cranks slowly across top of weeds. War Eagle night time spinnerbait with added tinsel for some flash. Jitterbug and hula popper at times, should use them more times.
