  1. Get the spro chad Shad and don’t look back
  2. In theory, straight shank should hook them better because there is more hook “bite” or gap. I swear I lose more fish on them though compared to EWG.
  3. I have the 6’10 Expride A model, so I’m not sure if this also applies for the newer B model… I use mine pretty much exclusively for jerkbaits but have thrown some topwater walking baits on it too. Biggest has been a kvd sexy dawg in the larger 3-hook size.
  4. Thanks all, will give sieberts a try.
  5. Time to restock on some spinnerbaits. Man they’ve gotten expensive… 9.99…12.99…19.99?! What are your favorite spinnerbaits that don’t break the bank?
  6. 7’6 medium heavy Expride is my dragging rod. I pitch 1/4-1/2 oz weight + plastic on this rod and it’s my favorite rod for dragging 1/2 oz football jigs.
  7. Used to order from those guys when they were at ALF. Brian is a good dude. They cut me some slack many times on rods that were not advertised as on sale.
  8. I throw some glides in the 6-8” range. Just picked up a clutch boss recently which is my largest, but really looking forward to throwing it this spring.
  9. Can’t help with the poison adrena, but I own the Expride 6’10 medium solid tip and the 7’2 medium solid tip. I really like both rods. I fish 3-4 inch baits up to 3/16 oz on the 6’10, and the 5-7 inch baits up to 3/16 oz on the 7’2. The 7’2 rod has slightly more power in the tip. I don’t throw many jig heads over 3/16th since most of the lakes I fish are shallower.
  10. I use a size 1 or 2 owner st-36. Pretty much the same size as before, just sharper.
  11. I recently purchased a few 3-4 oz glidebaits and was wondering what knot everyone is tying their large (and expensive) baits with. For most fluorocarbon applications, I use the improved clinch knot and have not had any issues. I thought about using the double clinch instead for the glidebaits to give the line an extra wrap. I know the San Diego Jam knot is also popular and considered to be very strong. I don’t know how to tie it, but if this is the one I should use, I’ll take the time to learn it. What are your thoughts?
  12. I own a native Titan X 10.5 kayak currently. It cost me around $3000 new and I’ve put another few thousand into the accessories and electronics. It gets me out on the water, allows me to do a few kayak tourneys when I feel like it, and is still maneuverable enough for me to throw it in the bed of my truck and go for a few hours. I can’t take it on really large lakes and it can be a pain when it’s windy but most of the lakes I fish are small, electric-only lakes anyways. I don’t have enough storage space for a boat right now but will get one in the future. For now, the kayak works for me.
  13. I bought some clear plastic bags (4mm thickness maybe?) from Amazon and store all my buzzbaits and spinnerbaits flat in a 3700 open compartment box.
  14. I have the Titan X 10.5 and have no regrets buying it. I had an old town pdl 106 before it, and the Titan is much more comfortable with the higher seat (I’m 6’6) and more stable. I use the pedals and don’t have any plans to add a motor, but the Titan is a bit slower than the old town was, at least for peddling. I really love how customizable the Titan is though. I have a garmin 106sv mounted on a captain’s bridge with FFS too. I have it set up so it only takes me about 2 minutes at the ramp to get on/off the water. It’s heavy but not unbearable if you’re younger or in decent shape.
  15. No sure what your intended use is for the rod, but I own the poison adrena 7’4 H mod fast, which I assume is very similar to the Expride model. This is more of a “big moving bait” rod . I use it mostly for magdrafts and other swimbaits. It’s a little on the slow side for my liking for jigs, but it gets the job done in a pinch.
  16. Titan X owner here. In my opinion, the hammer looks slightly better thought out as far as customization goes. I assume it’s also a bit faster due to the slightly narrower and more streamlined design. Not sold on the foldable peddle drive. Looks like it would get in the way of mounting electronics on a captain’s bridge and that’s a big deal breaker to me.
  17. Yeah the durability is pretty bad. I wish they would go to the keeper style clip that the cull shads have. You could try some of the “mend-it” bait repair glue and see if it helps any.
  18. Lucky craft 1.5 for 6.99 is highway robbery in a good way.
  19. Casts just as far as my other rods in my opinion. Not much of a difference.
  20. I bought the Expride solid tip 6’10 medium rod last fall and have really liked it so far. Not saying it’s the best one out there, but it’s a solid option. I tend to fish mostly 3-5 inch baits on 1/8-1/4 oz heads.
  21. The tactical bassin crew throws most of those baits on the Expride 7’7 heavy with the exception of maybe the Huddleston jig hook baits (you’d need a heavier rod for those). If wanting more of a budget friendly rod, you could check the curado line. I’ve found that Shimano usually has the same or similar models across their different tiers of rods.
  22. Within about an arm’s reach
  23. I’m going with the garmin LVS34 and this will be mounted on a kayak.
  24. Anyone using a 93sv for livescope? Is the screen large enough to use it efficiently or do you wish you had a larger one? Im deciding between the 93sv and 106sv. The 93 would fit a lot better where I plan to mount it and save a bit of $$, but not sure if I’d regret it and want the 106 later. This unit will be used strictly for displaying livescope. I have a different unit that I use for mapping, DI, and SI.
