Spinning rod help.
BPS will be coming down a lot more in the near future. Members have reported buying Avids at Dick's for as little as $65. I would suggest that you hold out and get the St. Croix when the price is right, or just do a little more shopping around the internet.

New spinning reel needed
Why do a poll then? The Symetre was favored by 64% of the respondants, more than 3:1 over the President. Oh well...Good luck with your new reel, lots of guys really like them.

Best Shallow Running Crankbait
I like Bomber Square A, Mann's 1- and Norman Fat boy. Although not quite as shallow, the Classic was won a few tears ago by Tak fishing a Bagley BII. The LC Rick Clunn series looks GREAT to me and I own a few, but I haven't fished them. My PB was caught on a Norman Fat Boy, bluegill pattern.

21 & 1/2 Inches on 1 Inch Grub
All right, here is the deal.: If they are doing anything illegal, report them and follow-up. If not, get over it and find somewhere else to fish. Keeping fish is NOT illegal and you (we) have no control over that.

new crankin rod
It's the same one, the yellow-orange rod. I consider it Moderate or Slow Action (a big striper can bend it through the butt of the rod). I suppose the designation of "Fast Action" means that technically, it really starts loading in the top quarter of the blank. Firm tip on a flexible blank? I really don't know. What makes the rod unique is that big baits can be "worked" and big fish controlled, but the rod is so forgiving fish cannot pull-off. This is a massive stick, but well balanced and light. The components are top shelf and the craftmanship superb.

kwchannell89, I'm not singling you out, just using your quote. I read most of the posts in every section of this Forum, but I read EVERY post in "Tackle" and "Rods, Reels, Line, etc." RARELY does anyone push higher priced equipment "IF" a specfic pricing point is listed. Even when this does happen, it's usually someone addressing another poster, NOT the original member asking for advice. On the otherhand, if a thread is initiated asking "What do you think about this rod for this application?" there are going to be some responses that you might not like. At every pricing point there are a number of alternatives, some of which are better than others.

new crankin rod
You guys REALLY need to look at the Lamiglas SR705R designed by Skeet Reese: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewlamiglas705.html I bought this rod specifically to fish LC Pointer 128, big Spooks, Sammy, DD22 and Mann's 15+ & 20+. It is definitely NOT an all-around rod, but it's the one you're looking for.

anyone have used this reel?
My first Shimano reels were Symetre 500 and 1000 bought around 1996 or 97. Although I gave them away a few years ago my friends are still using both of them. I had them serviced once when I owned them, but I'm sure my friends haven't. These reels are not nearly as nice as the newer modesl, but they are just as smooth and strong as they were the day I bought them. As I have posted many times before, the Stradic is what I consider the "best value" in the Shimano line-up, but several other members of the Posse have argued that they like the Symetre BETTER! So, at the pricing point you have in mind, that is the better fit. You will find these reels to be strong, smooth, silent and reliant. If you service this reel occasionally, it might last a lifetime, but it will certainly be "like new" five or ten years from now.

what do u think about michael vick?
I prefer one souluton for convicted felons: If the crime involves rape, torture, murder or treason, I say hang 'em all, every Saturday, downtown and at high noon. If the crime is against children, hang 'em twice, the second time by the neck. As for Vick, take your pick: Throw him under the jail or under a bus.

humnbird r25 fish finder RW where are you?!
Well, maybe you could get the guy that gave it to you to show you how it works. I don't know anything about the device.

Anybody still use a short pistol grip rod?
Nope. I fish with two hands and the pistol grip is uncomfortable for me to use. I like casting long rods. And I don't like short sticks when fighting big fish either.

answer to bill dance fishing quiz??
I'm sure George has the best answer. It seems to me baitfish is the staple, crawfish are a treat and frogs an opportunity.
