  1. John Carter, Welcome aboard! Slightly warmer and certainly clearer water is a boon for smallmouth. The effect on walley, salmon and lake trout populations remains to be seen.
  2. The Stella is the bomb! However, it is not a "value." I have fished Stradics for years and believe they are the "best value" in the Shimano line-up. So, all I'm saying is that you can own four Stradics for the price of one Stella, but if you only fish one spinning combination, the Stella is King.
  3. I'm with Jim, I just don't like the way this rig casts. That said, I still fish a C-rig occasionally. My #1 plastic for this technmique is a lizard; #2 is a Gitzit.
  4. b8r, Welcome aboard! Move away from the bank. Target structure in deeper water where most fisherman rarely fish.
  5. I highly recommend rubber nets.
  6. Forget about the facts, it's still our fault! If a lie is repeated long enough, many people assume there must be some truth to it. This is how the "agenda" is managed. Spotlight "experts" and "scientists" or philosophers, as long as they agree with the program. This is how theories become "facts" without a fundamental basis in reality.
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. [(365 X 2) - 5 days] ...and counting.
  9. This is as close as it comes to what you might be looking for in spinning tackle: http://fish.shimano.com/catalog/fish/products/group_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302036665&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181270&bmUID=1168221823549
  10. Welcome aboard! Scroll back in this section and "Resumes" for tons of information. Join a local club and see how you do and more importantly, see if you like that style of fishing. There are plenty of tounaments where you can "give it a try."
  11. The 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook is the only hook I ever use with a Fat Ika. The GYCB website is www.baits.com
  12. Nothing remotely close for me. I think when I responded last year I must have been thinking about 2007. :
  13. Nice pic, too!
  14. Dude! Those are some fine brown fish. I'm impressed...Too cool and GREAT pics, too.
  15. Great report! Congratulations to the both of you.
  16. kbkindle, The Fat Ika is 4". You are correct about the color I recommend, 194J, but other colors may be more effective for you. I use a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook. This is a GREAT lure for smallmouth on lakes, but I'm not so sure about river fishing. The action of the fall on slack line is important and doesn't work as well in moving water.
  17. My thoughts and other member comments on a thread running it "Everything Else." http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1167937638
  18. Funny, my wife has never introduced me to her partner. Tell you wife Maureen says, "Hi!"
  19. You have NO obligation to reply, pay for or return the books.
  20. I don't know about impressing other people with high end fishing gear. The only people I ever notice paying much attention are other guys with pricey gear and fishing guides. It seems like everyone wants to know what lure you're using, the color and if they are bold enough, where you were catching them. Rods and reels are certainly THE hot topic among cyber-fishermen, but I rarely hear it in the real world.
  21. 6" Senko
  22. Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library and focus on the "Beginners" section. Here is a thread that might help you get started: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137
  23. This is just another BASS scam. Same deal for me a few years ago, received a book I didn't order. Anyhow, You DON'T have to return it and you DON'T have to pay for it. You have NO obligation to ANY company that sends unsolicited merchandise addressed to you.
