  1. The perfect Christmas presents!
  2. You might want to look into what this guy is doing: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/110411-are-you-ready-for-some-football/#entry1202814
  3. No specific time frame, just "as needed".
  4. That's an impressive report. What bothers me the most is post-release mortality. We were at Kentucky Lake a couple of years ago on a BassResource Roadtrip. A major tournament was going on at the same time (FLW?). The weather was brutal, but cold not hot. On the first or second day some of us were at the ramp in a small bay where fish had been release the previous day. I have never seen so many big, dead bass. It was TOTALLY disgusting. With today's technology, immediate release is a possibility. Big O has some very specific thoughts on the logistics. There would be costs involved, but the main argument has revolved around destroying the dynamics at weigh-in. The answer in a nutshell is to put on a show like you would see at a rock concert, huge screens and action packed video. The point is, huge fish get that way because they find the perfect environment in which to grow. Releasing bass immediately back to their "neighborhood" would be a huge step forward. Good for the fish and good for the future of tournament fishing.
  5. Geez.... You have outdone yourself! :santa-107:
  6. Well, I hate to be a stick-in-the mud, but Yo-Zuri Hybrid has so many superior attributes, I think it is a much better choice. The cost is nearly the same or just a few dollars more. The additional strength and abrasion resistance for a given line diameter is extremely important.

  8. Better check the date, you don't want a conflict with your trip to Pickwick! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/102156-2013-roadtrip-youre-invited/
  9. Yes. The skirt flares back against the body when you move the bait up or forward. The Fat Ika falls away from you when you drop it on slack line and the skirt flutters up. Play with the thing in clear water and you will swear it's alive!
  10. Still on topic, but another twist: I fish a black on black Cavitron exclusively. However. the Rage Tail Shad is an alternative that I always prefer in heavy vegetation. I fish several colors: green pumpkin, red w/ black flakes, blue glimmer and black w/ blue flakes. Pick your favorite color!
  11. Standard rigging: #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid/ 7' MF spinning tackle/ 4/0 Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook (thin wire)/ skirt forward, weightless & weedless. BTW, this is the basic rigging I had at Guntersville last spring. The only difference was #4 Hybrid. My big bass was 7-7.
  12. In addition to the State Park there is a TVA campground below the dam, just five minutes away. Camping, or for that matter, lodging in general, will not be an issue.
  13. No, but we have reserved all of the cabins and several hotel rooms for BassResource members. This expires April 1st. If the State Park Lodge is filled, there will still be accomodations available off-premise. http://www.bassresource.com/pickwick/lake-pickwick-info.html
  14. In still water <12' deep, the Fat Ika is unsurpassed.
  15. (1) Rage Tail Menace on a 1/8 oz jighead (naked) rigged with a verticle tail (2) Rigged on a NorthStar Original Swim Jig (especially Natural Shad/ Blue Glimmer Menace) or Siebert Outdoors Swim Jig (Blue Glimmer)
  16. I think the "points" you are referring to are "posts". 582 Posts, 0 Warning Points
  17. And the winner is... http://www.beaverliquors.com/
  18. Talk with someone at your local Chamber of Commerce. They may have a couple of ideas for you.
  19. Send a PM to FishinDaddy.
  20. I like experimenting with different lines. With a few exceptions, it is fun and relatively inexpensive. These are the lines I have used over the past two years: Seaguar InvizX and AbrazX, Tatsu, Izorline, P-Line CXX, Sunline Super Natural and Sniper, Suffix 832 and Fireline Braid. As a result I am not going to use anymore fluorocarbon except for leader. I'm leaving the P-Line CXX on my striper rig only. Sunline Super Natural will stay on a dedicated jerkbait rod and Suffix 832 on my Alabama Rig. For everything else, Yo-Zuri Hybrid #4 or #6 on spinning tackle; #12 on baitcasting gear.
  21. What? You don't know who sent you the present? The PopMax is pretty special. I would make an effort to find out who your Secret Santa is and thank them personally with a PM. FishinDaddy has all the names and match-ups.
  22. Depends on how many guys you have, but we always have had seats available in the past.
  23. You guys should rent a bus and come to the RoadTrip together!
