Darnit, He Should Have Jumped !
We have a pond in the neighborhood with a large flock of resident geese. As you know, the grass is always gfreener on the other side of the road. All the neighbors try to be careful, especially in the spring when momma goose leads her new family across the road, stopping traffic for what seems like an eternity. My wife is the most conscientious of all, but pooh-pooh happens! A few weeks ago one of these geese waddled out on the road at the very worst moment. As she described it, "The bird just blew-up".

Nfl Playoff Game
When I lived in Denver we went to a lot of play-off games without tickets! We were always able to buy them at the stadium. In fact, for at least one game we found four together. Generally, there are plenty of single tickets, but I never had any problem finding two. Also, I never paid a premium and if you are patient, you can probably find tickets at a discount.

New Knot: The Big O
I like playing with different knots. Structurally, many or even most fishing knots have many similarities. Someone else can tell me if this one is REALLY new, but I think it is something you will find interesting. The Big O Knot is designed for braided or heavy fluorocarbon line. A primary goal is to provide 100% security when Big O sets the hook! I promise you this, if tied properly the knot will not break. This is a variation of the Pitzen Knot: http://www.orlandooutfitters.com/knots/knot.asp?id=12 The Big O Knot requires putting the tag end back through the eye of the hook one more time, just as you would do with a Palomar Knot. Bring the loop you created up next to the main line. Then wrap the tag end four times around the outside of the main line and the two lines of the loop. Start the wrapping from the bottom (nearest the hook) and work up. Finish the knot by threading the tag through the newly created top loop, moisten and tighten.

Favorite Buzzing Style Soft Plastic Topwater? Frogs?rageshads?
I'm using a 1/8 oz jig head with enough shank to get the hook almost to the tail. For topwater the tail should be horizontal. To fish it like a minnow, rig it so the tail is vertical. When used as a swim jig trailer, also rig it vertical. Play around with different weights to see what you like. Remember, the body must be straight for proper presentation. Oops! This should be obvious, but I will mention it anyhow: separate the tail.

A Southern Blizzard
Well, you will find this entertaining, too: Last year schools were closed on at least two different occasions when "frozen percipitation" was FORCAST! We didn't get the snow either time. Local news rarely uses the "s" word.

Carolina Rig
The rigging options are unlimited, but this is something else to consider: For "back-seaters" try simply trolling the C-rig with a Rage Tail Eeliminator. You will have a VERY good shot at out-fishing your partner!

A Southern Blizzard
Dateline: Memphis, TN With nearly an inch of snow and howling 10mph winds, the city is nearly shutdown. Schools are out for the holidays, but "non-essential" personel are urged to stay off the streets. More snow is on the way!
