  3. For me it was the Roadtrip at Pickwick two years ago, but last year Guntersville was a hoot, too! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html

  7. The "secret" is fishing nothing else for awhile. It took me two years to "get it".
  8. Really, banned? I apologized and was wrong. I would have deleted my post, but it was quoted and I wanted to leave Goose52's comments (and others) in context. -Kent
  9. I agree. I misspoke or miss-typed as the case may be!
  10. Uncle! I missed the Generation 1 vs 2 distinction. I would delete my post, but since it has been quoted and the basis for your very detailed reply...All I can say is your point is made with me. -Kent
  11. Hmm... Issues right out of the box and over time. Sounds like problems with design, engineering, components, craftsmanship and quality control. "Value" is more than a matter of price. I think the money is better spent on reels that have stood the test of time. My preference would be "Smooth, strong, silent and reliant".
  12. No, but they will appear to float on mats or lilies. All of these will work rigged weightless: Rage Shad, Menace, Smokin' Rooster and Space Monkey.
  13. Wow! I don't recall ever reading a thread where all the respondents agreed on anything. Must have something to do with the holidays!
  14. The baits are designed with the action of the appendages in mind. I always disconnect them.
  15. Well, I know a lot of bass fishermen that consider spinning gear an afterthought, just something they rarely use. For those of us that use spinning tackle extensively, the quality of the reel directly impacts performance. I use spinning tackle most of the time fishing for smallmouth on the Tennessee River. We have the potential of hooking up with the next World Record. For me that requires gear at least as sophisticated as any baitcasting equipment I own.

  18. Nice fish. Congratulations!
  19. Green blends well in clear water. Purple smoke is better in stained water. Clear (white) looks great on silver reels! I really don't think it matters.
  20. I think the next step up is a better value. The Symetre is what I would recommend.
  21. I caught my big bass and quite a few more on a Fat Ika. Generally, the lake is know for lipless cranks. The week before you leave talk with Spinnerbait Kid. I'm sure he will have some very specific advice.
  22. Don't be in a hurry to fill your boxes. You will find new or "new to you" baits and lures all of the time. I like boxes self contained. I have two dedicated to soft plastics. Each box contains appropriate, weights, hooks swivels and beads. I have one box with a variety of jigs, another specifically for swim jigs. Each box has Rage Tail trailers. One box for crankbaits, one for spinnerbaits and one for jerkbaits.
