Fishing Innovation: What do you want to see?
What's up y'all? Hope y'all have been enjoying a successful year of fishing so far. I'm working on a project, and wanted some input. Since this forum is so helpful I thought that I would turn here. Is there any one gadget, or item you would like to see or have in the industry that hasn't been designed yet? Let's hear it! Thanks for the input! Happy Fishing! Tight lines. -Rob

Front Runners
I hear a lot of you don't use your front runners. I've been looking for one and cannot seem to find one. Would anyone be willing to allow me to purchase it off of them? Thanks!

Heavier Spinning Tackle for Bass?!?!
A friend of mine has recently gotten into bass fishing (via my teaching) and I regularly throw baitcasting combos. He is looking for a heavier spinning rod/reel combo to throw those heavier baits (because he's newer to fishing). Nothing going much over a 2-1/4 oz swimbait if even that. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for heavier spinning tackle for Bass. Thanks in advance! - Rob

Hardcore Crank'n
I love throwing those little billed and lipless crankbaits like any other angler! Just wanted to know if anyone had any other ways to work them that deemed overly successful for them! And also if they work great in the spring! Any tips and tricks are appreciated! Thanks a ton!

Can never fail with the hollow body frog. Love 'em. Great luck! $20.00 right there! Gotta love when that happens!

Personal Favorite Lure
Very good topwater lure in specific circumstances. Have to know the right sizes, colors, etc. Caught all my PB's as well as multitudes of fish. I've only had it for one season so far. One of my favorites no doubt.

Jig Fishing
Thanks a ton for this advice! Will definitely be using jigs more in the upcoming season, and hearing it from the jig master XD. Thanks again! This is awesome! A lot of people say try to make it seem as if you are rying to make the jig undiscoverable to bass. I love this technique! Thanks a ton! For laydowns, from what I've heard, a flipping jig would produce the best. The Arkie designed head is made to bounce off and around that cover. Plus, the streamlined design helps it to deeply penetrate that cover, therefore making a flipping jig best for cover and laydowns and weeds. Make sure if the lake is normally clear in color, to match the hatch as well as throw more natural colors. I mainly like to stick with natural craw colors, green pumpkins, and black and blues. A lot of anglers sware by different sizes, but the main size that seems to be the most versatile is the 1/2 oz. Make sure, as well, if you are going to be placing a trailer on the back of the jig, that it matches the bait. Both in color, as well as in profile. If you are throwing a large bulky spread out jig, choose the correct trailer. As well as vice versa for a slimmer jig. Hope this helps! -Rob

Susquehanna River Bass Fishing
Thanks! Just learned how to better fish chatterbaits. So I'm hoping that they can produce for me this spring. Did you fish in the spring in PA?

I strongly agree! Thanks for the feedback! I'm mainly asking this due to the fact that I may be doing some tournaments in the spring, and need to know some great go-to lures for the spring months.

Swimbait/Glidebait Fishing
I recently decided to begin hunting Giant PA Largemouth and Smallmouth. I picked up some swimbaits to give them a try, and have a few questions on how everyone uses them (Spro BBZ-1 Swimbait 6" Rainbow Trout). Just what has been the best action you have used for swimbaits? (retrieve, jerking, twitching) I'm also looking into using a glidebait (River2Sea Rover 168S Lite Trout Color) and wondering the same thing for it. (retrieve, twitching, jerking, steady) Wondering what you all had to say! Thanks in advance!

I see what you are saying, and thank you for the feedback. I know a lot of people sware by them, so I'll have to pick one up.

Jig Fishing
Great content, and thanks a ton! I fish rocky bottomed creeks/rivers, rocky bottomed lakes, as well as muddy bottomed ponds. So for me, I've only felt the need to have football jigs. But, I would like to throw a different jig for spots with heavier cover. What would you recommend for that?

Susquehanna River Bass Fishing
Thanks so much for all this info! I have a few spinnerbaits including, I believe a 1/2oz white one for Largemouth. I typically throw red/orange/craw colored crankbaits as well as chartreuse sexy shad colors in a squarebill. I also have a few red eyed shad crankbaits I can't wait to try. I've heard a lot of talk about using jerkbaits in the spring for Smallies, as well as small tubes. Do you have any input on that? Thanks a ton!

Evolution Baits Grassburner
That, to me, is typical with any topwater buzzbait/propbait. Grass/weeds/leaves in the prop or the blade of a buzzbait can quickly ruin the action. I've heard they work great, sometimes even out fishing some of my go to topwaters such as the frog or the Whopper Plopper.
