What's up y'all? Hope y'all have been enjoying a successful year of fishing so far. I'm working on a project, and wanted some input. Since this forum is so helpful I thought that I would turn here. Is there any one gadget, or item you would like to see or have in the industry that hasn't been designed yet? Let's hear it! Thanks for the input!

Yes, fishing line that casts and managages like mono, has the abrasion resistance of flurocarbon and possess the knot strength, no stretch, and long life on the reel like braid.

 Need two versions of it - one that floats and one that sinks.

It’s hard to know what’s out there and what’s not.

 

When I saw that Cyberfishing thing from ICAST, it made me think it would be nice to have a tiny timer like that on my rod that I could set to beep at different intervals, like every 30 seconds or whatever. I get kind of tired of one mississippi… two mississippi… I know you can buy little kitchen timers for $1, but they don't automatically start over.

 

Thanks for this input. The comment with the line is crazy. That's like one superline to replace all lines. Thanks for the input, once again!

I would like an EMP device that will disable wake boats and jet skis.

 

And a sensor for my lures that will retract the hooks if a gar, snakehead or catfish approaches too close.

 

And a hand-free kayak rudder that operates telepathically.

 

How about a battery charger that is integrated into a boat or kayak hull? Maybe combination of hydroflow and solar?  Never plug in again

I agree with A Jay here. We could stand to keep seeing some improvements in lines. Most other things have been " innovated" to the max.

Four versions - the two you've described, then two more that have a little stretch for 'shock absorption' with some lures/techniques.

a hot dog holder, much like the taco holders, where you can place multiple hot dogs, while you garnish them with all the fixin’s, on your plate and not have to worry about your favorite dog(s) tipping over and spilling all over the place.....quite annoying to say the least.

Tuf-Line Supercaster is half of what you want.  It floats.  There's no sinking model.  Best topwater line I've ever used.

I know what all Fishermen need that doesn't yet exist, but I'm not telling!!

Truely weedless or snag free trebles that can come through cover and resist snags without looking unnatural or impacting action/hook ups.

 

Just about physically impossible I know, but I share a love of rivers laden cover and JDM Hardbaits...A man can only swim after so many obscure squarebills lol

 

Also, more realistically perhaps- a buzzbait that doesnt get out of tune/balance after catching a couple 3lb+ bass...Terminator was barking up the right tree with the titanium, but everyone I've used planed almost on its side outta the package.

I was in the Florida Keys a month ago, and I actually saw and heard a boat full of .... come blasting through, playing the "Baby Shark" (Doo doo do doo do doo) song.  It could be heard for - my best guess - 3 miles.  They came through the channel breaking wake, and I heard every minute of the song, so...

Some sort of VR that overlays your graph onto what you are actually seeing would be reeeaaallly cool

This topic is almost like a market study that's been planted by the industry... "How can we go from making basic stuff, that already costs way too much, to making more advanced stuff that costs ridiculously much more"?  

A graph that has true, effective, trouble-shooting diagnostics built in.

Would like to see the trend of wow everyone pays 16 bucks for a Jackhammer, lets charge 10 bucks for are new inferior blade bait that should be really 5-7 bucks end. Saw this happen with golf, hope fishing remains an affordable past time that many from all walks of life can enjoy. Pipe dream I know;)

I agree with this, top end JDM lures get a little traction and all of a sudden the budget brand companies, which I love still, are charging similar prices for inferior products.
