  1. Awesome man, feel free to add pics when you get home. You also brought up a good point, that’s my box and not actually what’s tied on. Since I’m usually in a kayak I only bring 3-4 outfits but what’s tied on now is a swimbait, a finesse jig, a wacky rig, and a lipless crank.
  2. @Team9nine Haha I love it. Fishing can be as complicated as we want it to be! I dig the shape of that green pumpkin worm up top, what is that?
  3. I typically have one box that I bring with me with my daily assortment of baits. Each trip I prep a box based on what styles I plan on using. Here’s what I’ve got for today. What are you guys throwing in that day box?
  4. Looking for a nice back of kayak cooler. The Yeti hoppers are such a good shape and size but the price is definitely a bit of a turn off. What do you guys use? What would you recommend?
  5. Unreal @A-Jay!
  6. I’ve always just slow rolled it, you catch em bouncing it?
  7. Well that’s what makes my method one other people aren’t doing. Don’t get Swindled
  8. I started using braid to floro this year and I’ve really been enjoying the way it performs. I use 50lb strike pro braid to a 12lb seaguar blue label leader material. My leader usually starts at around 8-12 feet to allow for plenty of re-ties before it needs switching. I make the connection with an Alberto knot (super easy to tie, and has never failed on me). I use this primarily for jig/worm techniques, but I will throw a moving bait like a bladed jig or a spinnerbait on it too. As for the stress on the rod goes, maybe the rod you are using is not the correct tool for the job, what are the specs on it (power, action)?
  9. I’m with some of the other posts, the gear while a little goofy looking, can save you a load of trouble, and potentially your life down the road. After seeing my dad go through his continuous treatment for skin cancer it is not a joke. I’m not gonna lie the sun gear is growing on me a little too, looking like a fish ninja ain’t so bad! One thing I do need is a nice pair of summer gloves. Any recommendations?
  10. Yeah just noticed you said it was on a Gamakatsu, good hooks...
  11. Fair enough! I’ve noticed some of my hooks rust out when I do this particularly with chatterbaits. @optimator search “Plano tackle logic lure wrap”
  12. Never tried em, don’t intend to.
  13. Dink tamer reporting for duty...I swear I can catch bigger fish ?. Anyways, first smallie of the season, so that’s noteworthy! The river was all kicked up with mud and exceptionally high, the mountains must’ve had some rain.
  14. Original bags for me. I’ve stored them various ways through the years tho and never had any issues. More of a preference thing for me. Here’s how I store all my plastics: It rolls up and velcros shut like so:
  15. That’s a healthy ecosystem in action. I always take highly active wildlife as a good sign.
  16. Rather than buying into the wacky rigging tool and o-ring hype I’ve always used little elastic hair bands made for braiding. 5$ gets you about 100 of em. They are super small I just double them over once and they fit nice and tight.
  17. Caught that one on a worm, very similar technique though.
  18. *drops rod tip* ...WHAM! Also, congrats @EGbassing.
  19. Whacked a bunch of dinks today on the jig, not much to brag about, but it sure was a good time ?!
  20. Water and a clean micro fiber, I also use a toothbrush, and a q-tip. May start using a little dawn now, good tip fellas!
  21. I’ll be pitching to some lay downs later today, to me that is what bass fishing is about.
  22. It can handle them to an extent, but with the taper being as fast as it is I ain't throwing over 2oz!
  23. Rubber reel seat* (thats where I hold onto so it's quite different from the typical plastic ones I am used to.) Glad you guys like em! Im pretty confident in my ability to hold a rod and tell if I like it tho. Its certainly not junk, I love Shimano products, but for the price I expect more. If I can get one for less than retail I'd consider checking one out.
  24. Crankbaits and spinnerbaits work great in the spring!
