  1. What's your favorite wire leader? Looking for strong and flexible. Being from the south I know absolutely nothing about it like you "musky filled water fisherman" ? Putting together a nostalgic Jiggerpole and don't feel like losing hard to find wooden creek chubs to Gar, mud fish, and chain pickeral
  2. I throw a Devilshorse and a bomber 6A almost every time I get on the water. Who said they quit working?
  3. Caught this bass throwing an OG slim fishing stumps in open water, then immediately went to the bank and started throwing topwater and no bites. I'm a topwater fanatic, so I fish what I enjoy. A Worm is the absolute last thing I pick up but sometimes would rather catch a few bass then go Home empty. So yeah I'm guilty of fishing Lure A when Lure B works a whole lot better. Tourney fishing is a completely different mindset, I'm fishing what works, not what I want to fish. ?‍♂️
  4. I throw the 6" freestyle regularly and do good with it. Would definitely fish the 5" if it came in the freestyle
  5. Simple- topwater all year. When that don't work crankbaits. When that don't work, worms. When that don't work start downsizing till it does
  6. *cough cough* GA has the world record bass. Anyways, I grew up fishing central Fla, fishing some of the very best phosphate pits there was. Bass fishing was phenomenal. But upon moving to South GA, I have fell in love with river bassin'. There's nothing like river fishing for bass, I wouldn't give it for any lake out there. I've had the best days and some of the worst days river fishing the altamaha, satilla, ohoopee, st.marys rivers but wouldn't trade it for anything!
  7. Fishing a backwater slough off of the Altamaha River system in South GA. It had been a really great day, fish were active catching them on T-rigs and topwater all day. It was mid June, around 12pm, one of those hot days but had a steady cool breeze blowing. My dad was in the back of the boat fishing a T-rig I was upfront fishing a modified devilshorse. That's when it happened, made a average cast to a shaded spot with a large log that ran out into 10ft of muddy water. Let it sit, twitch, another 10secs, twitch, BOOM! Water exploded, solid Hookset, game on. She immediately ran straight under the boat stripping drag, 15lb big game provided me with plenty of stretch and forgiveness with those trebles firmly planted in her jaw. Seriously a long fight at least 2mins of just slowly easing her to the boat, steady head shakes and hard pulls. About a minute in we seen her boatside, well over 10lb, beautiful fish,I'll leave the estimates there. Well she finally tires and gives up, my dad leans over the boat to lip her, when she comes up, the devilshorse was on the side towards him and instead of reaching over the hooks he backs off to wait for another opportunity to grab her. We'll when she came up, she tailwalked, shook her head, and said bye. Devastated was not the word. It's one of those times you just sit down in the boat and replay it over and over. I've never owned a landing net, always thought it was for sissys..well ordered one on the way home from that trip and never leave the house without it.
  8. Used it yesterday evening, paint does peel off. Tons of bites. But only caught 1 and lost a good one that wouldn't stay pinned. Produced alot of strikes, but not alot of hookups. I'll definitely keep fishing them
  9. Just like the picture with a #2 vmc neko hook
  10. 3/8's for typical GY senkos. I've caught as many as 20 bass (small) on 1 senko. Huge fan of heatshrink
  11. Waters not enough, electrolytes is what your body needs. I carry Re-lyte with me or liquid-IV, great stuff, better than sugar filled Gatorades. South GA swamps and rivers get rough, 102° days and humidity for days! To each his own.
  12. I ordered some from bait-wrx but still waiting on them
  13. This is usually where I turn a corner and do terrible. Northern waters are kryptonite for me. ?
  14. I've been slowly replacing all my S-baits with Stanley. Catt always talking them up I bought some and I'm a believer. Stanley FTW.
  15. Gold/Gold or Gold/Red
  16. 1/4 with larger blade
  17. @Captain Phil I've read and searched for every article about Topwater Charlie. Unfortunately there's not alot. Would've loved to met and fished against him!! I think I have around 50 propbaits now, and it's all I throw.. I've always loved topwater but after really taking time to learn and throw the devils horse, it's absolutely all I throw. I'll start fishing, 6hrs later I'm still throwing it. And yes, it's seriously a big fish bait. I grew up fishing Central Fla, and now have adapted my fishing to suit GA rivers and the propbait has been extremely successful for me. A secret I have been closely guarding against locals.
  18. Tournament Sat, 3-dark on the River. So yeah I'll be fighting crowds and pressured waters.
  19. Tricks that's not mentioned that I hesitate to share ? Add feathered rear treble, helps increase bites when motionless Remove pointed blades in favor of rounded blades. Eliminates tuning problems and slows the bait down. Wd40 straw trick with bobberstop to Eliminate line twist in front prop. I have developed "topwater charlie syndrome" and for the past months the only lure I have thrown. 2 weeks ago lost a DD river bass at the boat due to a huge jump ?
  20. BMP is on his way for another AOY, he's consistently fished above average almost every stop so far. Who's not picking him again. And again. And again. ?
  21. I think it's a confidence thing, if your a shallow water angler your gonna go there vice versa if your a deep water angler. 4hrs and unfamiliar with the lake, I'm looking to find the place I'm most comfortable fishing, with the baits I'm most confident with. If graphing is your thing it was time well spent finding bait. ? The biggest thing is going fishing and enjoying your time spent on the water. Always learning
  22. Heat shrink w/ #2 vmc neko. My hookup ratio increased tremendously when I got away from " wacky rig" hooks.
  23. @Catt reading on bassblaster, Lee comments to dropping a spoon on white bass to get the Largemouth fired up, and ended up catching an 8lb bass. That's knowing how to force feed them. I doubt very many pros were dropping on white bass
  24. 4hrs? Yeah I'm gonna be beating some banks looking for some juicy bank lines with lots of cover. I think it's a loaded question without more info. Seems you had a type of fishing in mind you wanted to do before you left the ramp.
  25. A public lake is just that, a public lake. You have to deal with people inconsiderate or ignorant. Seems like you did the right thing by helping him out. Doing good comes back around. But had it been different circumstances and he intentionally cut you off and was rude, get there earlier and fish faster so he can't cut you off next time ?
