Bass and crappie fishing locations in Richmond/Central Virginia
From the shore, I haven't been getting much in the way of bass hits for about the last ten days at Swift Creek Res. Caught a couple from the yak last Sunday. Bluegill seem to be the bank fishing catch of the moment. My six year old daughter loves it!

Can you identify this craw?
Looks kind of like a Buddha Baits Baby Momma Beaver.

Does anyone use a snap swivel on their lines permanently?
I use snaps without swivels on everything. As I've gotten older, I've become farsighted and tying knots throughout the day without reading glasses has become a major challenge.

What is the BEST lake in Northern Virginia for BIG bass
Ha ha. I didn't notice it was a nine year old thread when it showed up at the top of the southeastern fishing section. I just looked at a map and I wouldn't call that Northern Virginia either.

What is the BEST lake in Northern Virginia for BIG bass
Although the sampling numbers are a bit old (mostly being from 2015 and 2016), according to DGIF, the top five lakes in Northern Virginia for bass >15" are: Occoquan Pelham Germantown Burke Fluvanna-Ruritan As for Swift Creek Reservoir, although its nowhere near Northern Virginia, I am curious where the information about citation fish comes from as i fish that reservoir around four or five times a week.

This is why your kid should wear life vest
Glad you insist she wears her PFD at all times on the boar and that she's okay. I must say she's quite the caster for her age!

Finally getting past lurking
Hey all, I'm Rob and I live southwest of Richmond, Virginia. We recently bought property on a 1,700 acre lowland reservoir so I've been reading a lot here for a couple of months and found a lot of great info about fishing during the spawn. Looking forward to reading more and finally being able to participate.
