The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources has a number of fishing reports on their webpage: https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/forecasts-and-reports/small-impoundment-bass-rankings/ https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/forecasts-and-reports/reservoirs-ranked-for-largemouth-bass/ https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/forecasts-and-reports/impoundments-forecast/#region-1 A number of the top places are in Richmond or the surrounding counties.
