  1. The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources has a number of fishing reports on their webpage: https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/forecasts-and-reports/small-impoundment-bass-rankings/ https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/forecasts-and-reports/reservoirs-ranked-for-largemouth-bass/ https://dwr.virginia.gov/fishing/forecasts-and-reports/impoundments-forecast/#region-1 A number of the top places are in Richmond or the surrounding counties.
  2. Sounds to me like everyone who has responded is correct. My boat never leaves the 1,700 acre electric only lake that we live by. Even though my finder has maps, I never use them. On the other hand, if I travelled to unfamiliar lakes, I would think that maps are nearly essential.

  15. Sam's advice is great. Where did you try at Swift Creek Reservoir? We live in Woodlake.
