Here's a small batch I finished up this week. Been trying to improve my shad colors on the flat sided baits.

Thanks guys Skillet, both baits in the first two pics are the same body style. Bait 1 has a soft wobble and bait 2 has an aggressive rod shaking wobble.
  3. very nice color pattern, the work looks very clean.

Just personal preference I guess. The idea is for the bass to key in on the bait around the front hook. The truth is it's probably more window dressing than functional.
  5. Here is the rest of the baits from this weekend. Now if I can only find some time to enjoy my work.

Here are a few baits I finished painting this weekend. It was fun to paint without a heater running for a change.
  7. Good looking batch of baits, glad to see you still have the touch.
  8. Marc, I would love to see the shad without scales or just scale along the shoulders of the bait. I think the colors you used look really good.

John, my painting skills are just weak, that's best I can do. I know those Ind smallies are too smart for baits like these but the Ark largies are dumb.

Here are a few smaller balsa cranks I just finished. Nothing special on the colors, just plain old patterns.
  11. Those are cool

    Great looking baits as always.
  13. You should paint more, those look great. My clear coat does not like pointers, so I never paint them.
  14. Holy crap those are nice swimbaits.
  15. That's cool. Did you seal the wood and clear coat?
  16. Easy to paint that color on any bait. I would use a slightly lighter blue on the next one for a little better contrast against the black. Overall I was real happy with that color pattern.
  17. I love mine and this is my second. I just throw in the back of my truck and off to the lakes. 45lb thrust trolling motor and this baby will move. Fishing two people is not the greatest from the 8ft boat.
  18. Marc, that's fine brush work there.
  19. Here are a few stump knockers I finished this week.

All the baits look great Cliff.
  21. 1 inch of bill length will equal 6-7ft, that's a good starting point.
  22. All the baits look great Ben. Splatter the back of the red craw and that thing is mine. I really like the simple details on that bait, may have to borrow that from you. 3rd bait in the second pic is really nice.

I use a tooth brush to do the splatter.

Really helps keep the hook from getting tangled.

Got a few painted before this bitter cold set in. My airbrush does not like the really cold temps in my shop.
