Best fishing times + weather ?
So i am on cape cod right now i fished in the morning and caught 5 large mouths. It is 3 in the afternoon but it is cloudy and rainy and windy i know that the GENERAL rule of fishing is .... Early in the morning .... and late late in the afternoon. With weather like this where its cloudy and the sun isn't beating down on the water does this mean the fish stay active everywhere in the water? im guessing late morning / mid afternoon sun keeps them DEEP or in the weeds Just wanted to know if days where it's cloudy and rainy that i could basically fish almost the whole day since it never gets too sunny or hot out Also don't know if this is the right forum section? but i think its a general question so went with my best bet !

Rigging questions
i literally went to dicks like a month ago and just grabbed a bunch of hooks that i thought i have either used before OR have seen in my dads tackle box. And also some worms / baits tell you what hook is best to use which is nice but sometimes i can't find them or i can't quite put the hook in the right way possibly but i'm definitely going to look at 3/0-5/0

Rigging questions
So snip the line then retie often? No worries i want to learn to become a better fisherman and a more informed fisherman i mean im not trying to become the next bass tourny master or anything just want to have a nice time out on the lake and pond and catch a lot of fish lol The knot where you spin it 10 times and then put the end through the bottom open loop area and then pull it straight down then you Burn the end of your line so it doesn't untie itself

Rigging questions
Now i use a snap swivel so i can change my lures fast instead of tying things on and such and it's probably a bass fishing sin to use it but it's how i have fished since i was a kid. I have always "texas rigged" my worms but possibly with the swivel i can't texas rig a worm the right way like i see all these other bass fisherman do it on youtube or elsewhere. Because i always have this weird bend in the worm like around the front. Is there a rig that i can rig a worm and keep the swivel ? or am i just basically going to have to buy another rod and just use it as like a tie on rod ?

looking for somewhere to fish close by in MA
I have fished at spot pond before the people there NEVER mentioned bass being in there they have said to have stocked it with trout so i was thinking maybe that's all that was in there since they use to put chemicals in there to kill all the algae and such i would have thought all the fish would be dead and now all that's in there is trout ?

Just north of Boston about a 19 - 25 minute drive to boston and i'm looking for somewhere to fish for bass or other fish that is close by (few minutes to an hour away tops) i shore fish mostly and will soon be fishing from a kayak (as soon as i get roof racks for my SUV) was just wondering if anyone knew of any fishing spots close by I also own a home in Brewster MA right on Long Pond and have seen them have bass fishing tourneys on the lake but don't know where else i could fish on the cape (don't care how far from my location it is when im down there) Any and all suggestions are appreciated

Looking into buying a kayak for fishing. Help and suggestions needed
I also want to know if i could buy any kayak in general or would fishing on a NON angeling kayak be a terrible idea (im not someone who uses a lot of tackle so even if theres very little space i can make do) i know it's preferred but for someone just getting into kayaking who has never kayaked before i would like something easy to control something lightweight and something that is stable and it sounds like a LOT of the kayaks out there are very stable and don't get tipped a lot

Looking into buying a kayak for fishing. Help and suggestions needed
Thanks Im definitely looking for stability and the least amount of weight because i will most likely be moving it by myself to and from the pond / lake i fish at If i can get a cheapish angling specific kayak i would for sure. Also looking for something that might not get blown around so easily or that won't get tipped over easily either

Looking into buying a kayak for fishing. Help and suggestions needed
Was looking at the Pelican Trailblazer 100 NXT Kayak or the Field and Stream Blade Kayak. I have never used a kayak before but am taking lessons on how to use one at a local fishing shop. If there are any other suggestions for a kayak they are much appreciated. Looking for something inexpensive. Main reason i was looking at those 2 is because they are sold at dicks sporting goods and they are having a boat sale right now.

Returning to fishing after a few years removed need help
So i have 2 rod and reels 1 is a amphibian shakespeare and the other is an RF F performance series?? never heard of it myself I fish for Pickerel and large mouth Bass mainly. I only freshwater fish. I was wondering what is the #1 line out on the market ? spyderwire? or stren? and what kind of fishing line should i get ? as i definitely need new line since the line i have on it is old and i don't want to have a fish snap the line and be still hooked
