i look like a total goober but this is the biggest pickerel i have ever caught by far ! didn't know they still were in the pond this size ! Thank god my dad was walking the dog alongside the pond so i could get this amazing picture 57 so far ! (counting 4 species)

What size ned rig would yall suggest for catching large mouth bass ? Like 1/8 oz? They all have the same hook size correct :?

The package these right here came in only had the 3/8oz label not like a 3/0 or 4/0 hook designation just the OZ this was the dilema i had these are the baits i was looking at

So I’m at the store right now and i never actually figured this out what is the relation from like a 3/8 oz jig head with hook to like a 4/0 hook? Because i want to try these yum swimbaits and it’s telling me to use between a 4/0-5/0 swimbait head and they don’t have anything labeled with / just ozes I picked out a vmc shad head and a 3/8 oz kalins ultimate swimbait head idk if those will work

went to everyone of those except bass pro shops it will be my last try to find them and ya if i can't find them at bass pro im gonna just order from online

I have been wanting to fish the ned rig so badly .... i can't find those gosh darn Z man finesse hooks or the Shroomz ANYWHERE !!!! like I don't understand people sell plenty of those little TRD baits ... but not the hooks to go with em ... I live up near Boston and have a Bass Pro Near me would they sell those hooks ?

When i was in my mid teens i loved senkos they would catch fish like no tomorrow then i stopped fishing for a while and now im using Swimbaits like the Storm paddletails and or a few jointed swimbaits and they just see to catch SO many fish. I have a thread on the Storm 360 GT Searchbait and by far it is my favorite because it catches fish and that's what we all aim to do lol (Favorite color so far is the houdini color scheme fish love it for some reason)

I have been doing the boat flip technique but obviously i don't want to hurt the fish and ruin it's life or something because i disfigured it or something idk but im definitely gonna look into a net

So is there a trick to the whole thing ? maybe i'm reeling the fish up to close ? i have no idea what im doing wrong but i obviously don't want to put my rod and reel in the water or drop it in the water to grab the fish then that ruins the reel (or so i have been told). What i have been doing is i free my spinning reel (clicking the bail in the casting position) and just grab the fish and slowly put the rod behind me in the rod holder. But i feel like im making the process more difficult Any tips ? also don't know if this is the right forum i would have put it in the kayak forum but i would think that's more for talking about boats in particular ? idk im always bad with putting things in the wrong forum

I see so it wasn't just some random person it was someone who knew exactly what they were doing and how to do it properly i feel like a jack wagon thinking it was an animal that did this now that im looking at all of it with a clearer picture lolol was more focused on indentifying the fish lol

may i ask why they cut the gills out ? is that a normal tactic to kill the fish or what

what is this thing ? i have never seen this kind of fish in the lake i live on ? i have a feeling a bird dropped it into the lake on it's flight back or something ??? i have seen catfish smallies and large mouth bass in the lake never whatever this is ? actually .... starting to possibly think this is just a dead largemouth bass ????? looks nothing like one though....

haha even dinks i count every species too pickerel perch or sunfish but i haven't caught a single sunfish and haven't gone after sunfish (bluegill)

I have never counted my fish until now and so far im up to 45 on the year of all species i know some guys only count big ones or only take down wait or only do PB ... but has anyone ever counted how many fish total ? if so what is your record #

casting and reeling mostly sometimes i try to work it like a worm like bounce it but there is so much weeds and muck and crap that usually when i do that all i come up with is a clump of stuff Sometimes the bass eat it on the drop but what i like to do is wait for it to hit the bottom then start reeling. The hook is positioned so it comes out the top of the bait. Only problem with the whole this bait works thing ... the fish are destroying the rubber ... any they come in 3 packs W/ jig head (but you can buy 6 packs of the rubber that goes on the jig head on amazon)

i have been just annihilating the pond i fish with these things (Bass and Pickerel) They really like the Houdini Color of these things. I suggest using smaller 3 1/2 as i have yet to catch anything on the bigger size but i don't doubt bass would go after the bigger size too. I'm probably late to the party and everyone already knows about these but just thought id put my 2 cents in ! Storm makes some other good swimbaits too that i have gotten a lot of hits on but the searchbait has been very consistent for me first 6 casts with them i caught fish

Morning for sure i have caught the most fish in the morning i mean recently i have caught fish throughout the day and evening but best time for sure is the morning for me RIGHT when first light hits too so very very very early lol (im committed)

Well ya i mean i shore fish and have a kayak just today was not kayak weather lol so shore fishing it was ! still caught 6 but it was SO hard to cast

haha only issue is casting into the wind it's .... annoying to put it lightly and i mean i know in general fish eat all day that's all they do is eat but i definitely feel like early morning i catch the most fish and also late afternoon although late afternoon i catch less than in the morning
