To all my Mass Fisherman ... Is there anyone that fishes on Long Pond in Brewster on here ? For as long as i have been fishing (since i was little) i have never caught a fish in there but they have bass tourneys on it and sometimes they come back with some HOGS ..... yet i can never catch anything >.>

O trust me as a kid i saw some lady just taking a massive string of fish out of my favorite pond and if i was older i would have screamed at her from across the pond but as a kid i tried to respect my elders. There was a very long time where the pond was absolutely horrible to fish in could fish all day and get maybe 1 nibble. Now it's back to how good it was when i was a kid and i guess im worried people will flock to the pond through word of mouth

Honestly i like catching any fish ? i guess i'm just someone that doesn't like to target 1 fish and will take what he can get Also i have been told by a few tackle shop owners around here that the LMB are WAY more aggressive than pickerel are and can easily kill off a pickerel population if enough bass grow to a good size But maybe they don't know jack squat ...

haha of course i realize it's legal would never hassle someone over doing something they are legally allowed to do ! don't get me wrong i might get upset and get my jimmys rustled but im not gonna go be a jerk just because someone wants 1 fish to eat

Last topic from me for the day but i have been meaning to ask. WHY such a hate for pickerel? i have seen a lot of people either online or in videos or through word of mouth of how much they hate pickerel ... and honestly it's my favorite fish to catch just because of how cool of a fish it is with the teeth and such I mean i still celebrate a bass just as much as a pickerel but i have an affinity for pickerel if i could catch big pickerel all day i would be in fishermans heaven imo but i just want to know why there is such a hate for them ? No hate if you do hate pickerel we all have our own opinions just want to know why specifically and such

I realize my opinion on people who kill fish is probably like ... wow that's harsh they are just trying to eat .... but idk i just i get really REALLY upset about it. I already have 5 Ugly Sticks 1 5'10 and 4 6'0 i feel like i can cast those way further than those giant 7' rods? Would yall suggest to get a 7' rod ? like am i just doing things wrong ? keep in mind i bank fish and kayak fish and sometimes the bank is suitable for 1 person max at certain places and i also feel like a 7' rod would be tough to use in a yak. Going to take a trip to Bass Pro on Friday and splurge a bit on myself so want to get the great people of Bass Resources opinions well before i go

That's annoying i find Trout to be the least fun fish to catch (never caught one but have seen plenty of youtube videos of people catching them ... seem weak and not fun) Makes me want to move to a state that actually stocks Large Mouth Bass. I'm from Melrose north of boston some people have told me spot pond but when i fished there as a kid i never caught anything

Thanks guys ! also any idea why Massachusetts does not stock bodies of water with Large or small mouth bass ? Can only find info on "Trout stocking" ...... not a fish i go after honestly so a little bummed by that. If they do stock any body of water with bass i would love to know which one lol

Wish there was more bank fishing around here tried fishing at ell pond today ... nothing not a bite saw a sign posted that they chemically treated the water ... which idk whether to be ticked off or not care because idk if that kills fish or not Going to be trying spot pond tomorrow hoping to catch at least something ... wish the fishing was as good as it is on cape cod everywhere in MA

Are rusty hooks bad for the fish i have been meaning to ask this like if i have rust not near the hook point like near the hook eye or something like does that kill or hurt the fish ? i never want to use rusty hooks personally but i have seen a few friends using rusty hooks or hard baits with rusty trebles also thanks for the link definitely gonna get a few of these !

I have no idea if it's carp because i don't know 100% what is in the lake ... i have seen 1 koi that obviously someone put in the lake and i know smallies and large mouth are in the lake too and also Bullhead catfish but that's all that i can confirm maybe there is carp

Honestly i had to rebuy my whole tackle box because my tackle box rusted out completely I think i have spent maybe $700 on resupplying myself with rods and lures My most successful lure so far is the cheap Storm 360 GT all these other 10+$ lures .... haven't caught a single fish on then again im so worried to throw them and lose them that i tend to just stick to soft plastics lol I think the sport could be cheaper but i realize .... people got to make a living and i want to have fun and you can't have fun for free 100% of the time so i'm willing to pay to have fun especially if the fish bite

i was literally sitting in my kayak and things were hitting the surface all around me ... i never saw an actual fish they would just hit the surface and i just wouldn't see um other than the splash and they had to be big enough to eat my bait with the splash they made

Sometimes when im out on the lake or out on the pond there are fish just either hitting the top of the water or jumping everywhere and i cast towards that area ... nothing .... i throw towards bait fish jumping out of the water .... nothing. I honestly don't know what im doing wrong or maybe they just aren't interested in what im throwing

Lily pads are my nemisis ... also i have NEVER been able to get a fish on a frog .... not a single fish even goes after em ?

Gonna check those out also i have seen a few guys on youtube cast it just as hard as a spinning and i know that's probably not the way to do it lol so i have not been casting hard at all just very smooth

I was looking to get a good baitcaster reel for beginners like one that is easier to use for someone whos never used a baitcaster. My cousin has a Quantum Nitrous on his rod and i was testing that one out and about every other cast i was having backlash issues ? maybe i should just stick to spinning reels ? If anyone has any tips or maybe a reel suggestion for beginners ? I watched a few youtube videos to get myself more informed with baitcasters but i feel like i still don't know everything or i'm just not getting it
