  1. Thanks for offering can you pm me as my pm seems to not be sending to you. I have tried multiple times in the last day but none have seem to send. @Munkin
  2. Could you send me a link?
  3. What’s the best braid that isn’t expensive? I will need to spool up my new reel soon.
  4. Quick question: I believe I am going to go with the caddis sports premier plus float tube. I see that you have a diy rod holders and an electronic graph in front. Just wondering if you could explain how you made the rod holders and how you connected your electronic (and what model is that electronic). Thanks!!
  5. Yep I love zoom for that reason!
  6. I’m looking to increase my tackle amount (wow what a surprise). Here’s what I’ve got after a year of fishing: -3 cranks- sq bill, dt 6, deep diver -2 jerks- shallow, 1small susp, 1 big sinking -4 lipless -3 walking baits -2poppers -3 jigs- 2 1/4oz, 1 1/8oz finesse -1 spinnerbait- willow, Colorado -2 buzzbaits- 1 white, 1 black -TRD’s -a lot of plastics- about 12 bags- for Texas rigging or shaky head fishing As you can see I have a small amount compared to most of you and want to increase my lure selection. I am also in high school so I don’t have a ton of money but I worked in the summer so I’ve got a good amount. Can you guys please recommend baits that you ACTUALLY USE that are cheap?
  7. I will be traveling down to Florida this weekend and filming with captain Shane. I will put a link when the video comes out.
  8. How was the first combo?? Good? I’m thinking about getting a MH.
  9. Thanks. I also booked a trip with captain Shane so I think I’m set!
  10. I wish I could bring that many bank fishing lakes!! I’ll take about 4 with me. I have a really clear lake I’m looking forward to fishing!
  11. Usually when a bass hits my soft plastic there are three taps (occasionally two or four). These taps are very hard and rapid so I usually wait until I know they have it to set the hook. But most of the time they leave the bait after the three taps. I have set the hook after the taps and the lure comes screaming at my face! I was reading another hookset post and one person said each tap is the bass sucking it in or out? Is this true? Should I set as soon as I feel the taps? How many taps?
  12. I will be taking a three day vacation to the beach and am packing my fly rod. Does anyone know of places to fish from the shore to catch bass on a 6wt? thanks!
  13. Yeah I’ve heard of that area. I will check it out sometime. Thanks!
  14. Good idea. I’ll try to hit the dupage river soon before it gets too cold to wade without waders. And then I’ll fish it from the bank.
  15. I know some of the fish are carp but I have seen BIG bass jump a foot out of the water so I know they’re in there! thanks guys
  16. Thanks for the tips guys! Especially @Scott F
  17. @Pond fisher yes I know but that’s the only way I can get a ride home.
  18. First let me describe this pond. It is about 1-1.5 acres and in a circle shape. It has an estimated max depth of about 10 ft. Fish species are largemouth, carp, sunfish/bluegill, and little clear minnows (1-2in) that sit just below the surface near the bank. Bottom feels like gravel and weeds. It has weeds that break the surface all around the edge for about 4-6 ft off the bank. For about 6-8ft from the bank there is a layer of dust from the gravel path ways. Visibility is about 8in year round I have thrown: -spinnerbait -buzzbait(2) -crankbait -frog(1) -beaver(1) -TRD(1) -popper(1) -other finesse(2) the only fish above 1lb was a 2.5lber on the buzzbait in the fall. I know there are huge fish because I have seen them bust and jump out of the water. I fished there yesterday and got no bites on a t-rig craw except when I was calling on my phone. I had let the craw sit for about a minute when it was hit. By the time I set the hook the fish was gone. Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this pond?
  19. So I settled on Windy City fishing. I filmed today and only landed one dunk creek largie. I easily could have caught 3 at the pond but couldn’t get them hooked. I think I’m going to ditch the video and hopefully get out again tomorrow. I’ll be fishing a small clear lake if I am free. If not I’ll work on my editing. @Glenn would you recommend I post the video from today or just tomorrow’s or both? Thanks!
  20. Holy crap!! That looks a tad to big but not a bad idea. I have settled on the angler backpack by tackle warehouse for Black Friday- I have a list of gear for Black Friday.
  21. Take an orvis class. Simple as that. I have a clearwater 6wt with 6.5 weighted fly line and I can cast decently sized poppers with it for pond bass. I would suggest starting with bluegills though. They teach you a lot. get a few bluegill bugs and head down to your local pond. Good luck!
  22. @NorthernBasser I'm sorry to say yes I am a bears fan but on the bright side I am a sox fan and usually root against the cubs but as the sox are terrible I haven't watched much baseball this year.
  23. Exactly, which is why I am now leaning towards doing something like Glenn and others said. Thanks guys. I will make my first video probably next weekend which will be filmed on a well known local creek and next door pond. So if I am going to be original and try to learn new techniques do I come out and say “today I am trying to catch bass on a spinnerbait...” and explain how I am trying or what?? Thanks again guys!!
  24. That’s a great idea slone. Thanks!
  25. Yeah for belly boating I’ll only take one 360 box and a few bags.
