  1. I know the one I have is too big and heavy for the amount from storage it offers. Also this will be my big bag- my mothership for tackle. I have a small day pack that is ultra light and can fit one 3600 box and I use the bottle holders for two rod holders. I also will be able to take it off while fishing. Thanks.
  2. I am a bank fisherman who bikes to my local ponds. I will also become a belly boater this spring.
  3. I really don’t care which way they are stored but I really would like it if it had some sort of soft plastic storage. thanks guys!
  4. Thanks Glenn! I will strongly consider doing something like that for the first year or so.
  5. I think I’m going to take the winter and fall to plan and polish my techniques. I will start in the spring with videos. Thanks for all the input guys it’s really appreciated!! And yes Ap is easily the worst googan no offense to him. He’s a good fisherman but not great with videos. My favorite is Jon B.
  6. I bought the bass pro brand backpack last year and it has run out of space. I would like a new one with tons of storage for TWH Black Friday. I would like it if it held 3700 boxes instead of 3600. I also have bags of soft plastics that don’t fit in mine right now. Any favorites or recommendations?
  7. Mine was a texas ridged ribbon tail worm or a zoom trick worm shaky head rigged.
  8. As some of you know I am a high schooler who is completing his first serious year of bass fishing. I have always watched people like Jon b, Flair, Ap, etc. and thought how fun it would be to do that. I would really like to share what I have, and continue to learn with others. I believe the best way would be YouTube. I have never made a YouTube video but am very good with computers so editing would not be a problem. I am not sure what to make videos about or what to film on- I have a dslr and tripod available so that will be my primary recorder for now. Anyone have have ideas for a channel name or content ideas? What should I start out content wise? Anyone know how to contact other fishing YouTubers? Anything else that could help me gain popularity or tips to make my videos better? -I am also a little nervous about how others will react- any tips about this?
  9. How can I create a survey??
  10. Any fly recommendations- I’m thinking bugger and clouser. I just caught about 7 largies this weekend without a sign of smallmouth which I’m ok with. They’re good practice and have a good population. Nice fish by the way!
  11. KVD squarebills and plastics on sale at bass pro! https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/strike-king-kvd-square-bill-silent-crankbaits?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&gclid=CjwKCAjwxILdBRBqEiwAHL2R8z2yeMSn8jbLBLit9WrdoMfHo7LBu400sTlWpZ3eQgyAMPDDIhz10xoCxAQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  12. @Scott F do you know of any good access points that are wadeable or have bank access? Thanks!
  13. I love fly fishing so I’ll try but it might be too wooded.
  14. Thanks! Just some information- I am only able to wade or fish from the shore. Thanks!
  15. So I am primarily a largemouth guy but have always wanted to try for smallies. I have a creek (Salt Creek) close to my home that reportedly has a decent smallie population. It is usually about 30’ wise and no more than 5-6’ deep. It is Surrounded by woods so it had quite a few lay downs. I am in the Chicago burbs so this place can receive pressure in one spot- the dam. It isn’t a very big dam but received pressure because someone caught a few pike a few years back under the dam (although most people throw night crawlers on a bobber). Last week my brothers friend caught two largies (1lb, 2lb) above the dam in some slack water on a 6’ crank. Another one caught a smallie (8”) on a small jig below. I would really like to give this place a shot. Should I wade? How to I know what to pass up and what to fish? Anyone have any recommendations for lures as the water temps have started to drop a bit? Should I fish around the dam or go a mile below? I’m thinking crank and TRD. Also if anyone has any tips that would be great. The primary forage is crawdads, gills, and creek chub. Thanks!
  16. I am looking into buying a float tube. Anyone have any recommendations and what accessories do I need or want for this. I will probably want about 2-3 rods with me during my trips. How should I store these? Anyone know of cheap waders to wear while float tubing?
  17. I am primarily a bank fisherman but will be purchasing a float tube this winter. I fish ponds and small lakes. I am looking into some new setups for next year and am not sure of what to buy. What i have: -6’6 MH rod (tourney special) -abu silver max reel -cheap spinning combo -6wt fly rod What should I get next? I have a $200 budget to use on setups. Should I get more than one setup or just one? I would like to replace the spinning and get another baitcaster for under budget. Thanks! (I am new to the multiple setup game so if you could list the purpose of each (what lures) that would be great)
  18. Thanks guys! I’ll downsize, fish slow and early at dawn. I’m going to try the turtles too!! Those should be interesting.
  19. I frequently fish three ponds each about an acre or less in size. Both of these ponds hold big Illinois bass (3+ pounds- I’ve seen them) but I have never been able to get many hits (1 to 2 fish per 2 hours). I believe this is because both ponds are very pressured. There is always someone else fishing there. One pond is a gravel and weed bottom about 10ft deep. The main forage is probably bluegill and minnows. The two others and 8ft deep and very weedy around the bank. The main forage is probably bluegills, frogs, and turtles(??) (do bass eat turtles because there are TONS at these two ponds). Does anyone have any tips or lures to try when I go next? I have fished primarily soft plastics (senko, ribbontail, shaky head, Ned rig, lizard) and I feel like I consistently catch fish but feel like I could be catching more and bigger fish. Thanks!
  20. I am a high school bass angler from the Chicago burbs. This is my first year chasing bass and I love it. I am hoping to learn new techniques, locations and catch a new pb! I primarily fish for largemouth, smallies, trout (on the fly), and panfish. I fly and baitcast for all of these species. I fish salt creek, maple lake, hidden lake, mallard lake, and other ponds in my area. -Favorite lure: Texas rigged ribbon tail worm
  21. Nice dude!! That’s a solid fish!
  22. I will be in Boston for a week and hopefully will have time to fish. Anyone know good spots downtown (parks, rivers). I can’t travel far because I will not have a car. Thanks!!
  23. Thanks guys!! Although I have caught bass here on top water I will probably spend more time fishing subsurface lures like spinnerbaits or senkos
  24. There are carp, minnows, and gills. I know there are bass because I’ve caught a few before. Some busts are definitely bass because they are big explosions.
  25. So I just fished this pond near my home. It has about 6” visibility with a 4’ weed line around the edge. Every time I go there there are bass busting all over- in the middle and around the edge, even in the weeds. I am very confused about what they are busting on. Anyone have any ideas so I can “match the hatch”? Today I fly fished a popper without any strikes. The only strikes I have ever gotten are infrequent attacks on poppers and buzzbaits- 3 on poppers and 1 on buzz bait- not as much as I would like from 4 total trips. Anyone have any ideas on baits to try?
