  1. Thanks! Seems to align with most stuff I have seen. It seems like it will be whoever finds the bigger fish that time of year.
  2. That’s awesome. The dupe is great and got some good ones hidden in there!
  3. Welcome fellow Chicagoland resident! What rivers are you around I fish all of them pretty regularly.
  4. Old pics from the last BFL on St. Clair. Had a few fish come off but nothing crazy. Finished with 16-04 good enough for a check on the co side.
  5. @PotatoLake Thanks again! We’ll have a few days of practice so should get on some fish. How does the current work in this system? I have fished TVA but never Missouri lakes. Also I don’t know if you know anyone who would be willing to talk about the lake that knows it more or someone who would be willing to share some of their information via email or phone call? Thanks!
  6. Thank you sir! That is much appreciated information!
  7. I have a big college tourney here in mid October. My friend and I are going for the win on this one. Any information is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
  8. Let me know how those dice are. Look like killers from what I’ve seen!
  9. Depends on the river. Check em because they def could be in there. Could also just be a carp catfish pike or Muskie hole too. Only one way to find out.
  10. Sorry for the late reply. Douglas was tough for me. Was not prepped for fishing 30ft of water as much as I would have liked. Also got to fish behind a pro on the TW circuit so that was awesome to learn from and caught 3 keepers. Cherokee I was given a chance to win but had about 10-12 fish come off usually within the first 5 seconds. Drag was set a little too hard and only got 3 keepers. Still finished 18th but a little frustrated about loosing a ton of fish. Also learned a lot about the fishery. Those are the coolest places I’ve fished as of now so glad I went. I guess better I fixed that now than to get frustrated on St Clair in a few weeks.
  11. That’s correct. Douglas should be fun lots of limits on the co side in the past.
  12. We’ll if you see a talk guy in a Purdue jersey come say hi! Where did 9-13 get 37th? Most lakes that will get you paid well.
  13. I’m doing 5 total this year as a co: -Douglas -Cherokee -St. Clair (3) Should be a blast. Anyone else?
  14. As a tournament angler I am probably the only one who will say this proudly: CRANKBAIT. Don’t throw em because usually the guy at the front of the boat is. Not that I don’t know how, just haven’t been in a situation where it was required.
  15. It can be difficult because they aren’t in their summer spots or spawning spots. Depends on how warm the water is but they should be grouped up in schools. I have seen schools of fish sometimes 20fish (and up to 4lbs) strong in a stream that is under 50ft across.
  16. I did a quick google search a found some good information. Spend an hour and you will find some good stuff on streams and rivers in your area.
  17. I throw mine on a 7’5 H zodias. Handles it well.
  18. Yeah luckily that was not my partners boat! Love seeing that thing running tho it’s quite funny looking next to 20ft bass boats! Yeah we did not expect weights to be that low not sure if it was the combo of clear water and sun or what. Thanks!
  19. Last weekend we had the first Minnow Bucket in over 900 days- COVID. It's a cool rivalry that has been going on for years. I was lucky enough to partner with a buddy and we had high expectations, as it usually takes 20lbs to win on this lake in central Indiana. Clear and cold water had most people scratching their heads but I threw my arm off throwing an A rig all day. Ended up paying off with 4 keepers for 9lbs. Going into weigh in we thought we hadn't even placed but turns out no one had caught em at all and we ended up winning with the 4! I was so surprised because there are a ton of guys between us and IU that are usually hammers on this lake. Feels good to win with fish that I caught. Pretty positive if I had control of the boat the whole time I would have gotten a few more but I am not complaining. Anyways a win is a win and we ended up bringing the bucket back home to West Lafayette! Enjoy the pics and the video!
  20. Good lord! Nice fish!
  21. My brother fished the High school tourney last weekend. Seems like the fishings hot! Nice fish!
  22. Depends also on the rod. All $100 rods are not created equal and this goes for every price point. Sensitivity will increase with good rods. For example an Expride and SLX do not compare in the sensitivity department but they are fairly close in weight.
  23. Thoughts in the savage gear pulse trout? Their price makes them very tempting.
  24. The dobyns swimbait rod is the standard for that price point. Really great steal of a rod.
  25. Not a glide bait guy??
